I like to make some pictures B+W because I think it brings out more "emotion" if you will. I will look for the color ones and post them too.

I laughed when I saw that, it's awesome.

My fault I thought you meant mine. Yeah It's pretty crazy looking, looks over exposed then poorly filtered, but hey it's all good.

This is something I sketched in about 20 mins. Not the best obviously but I am gonna try to paint greyscale in photoshop.

It's funny because I never realized it but yet I am kind of sad because I didn't catch it. That is how ever a great tip and I will defintily make note and use of that

Here are a few I took at a place near Pittsburgh.

FMPONE: thanks for the critique
very good. I think I noticed the oens where I had a lot of detail like Rust, it's just missing a good skybox. And then you have autumn which has little detail and a plain skybox. The bunkers in autumn were based right off the ones in prodigy because I wanted the same style bunkers in the level. It took a bit to get the window sizes down, and get the beveled texture to fit right but I only had to make one and copy it over so it wasn't as bad in that sense.sk3tch: Thank you for the pointers too. I think I realize that when you make somethign from a photo, the architecture could be pretty plain, and in some cases us as an artist could spice it up a little more, prob like that I should have done with those walls in factory.
I think I could prob make my factory map a lot better if I take some time to pour many more details into it, which I might do after my current projects are comepleted.
I am going to start a W.I.P. thread for all of my maps here on out, because it seems I am getting a lot of good critique from here and that to me is one of the best ways to learn.
-
I actually did add more brushwork on the windows in the factory, however I have not updated the pictures since then. So don't think I didn't ignore good advice bud
sorry I haven't updated the pictures yet. -
O damn e-freak I did cut their feets
I'm kind of sad haha. -
Still amazed
looks great man. Lighting seemed to approve the second shot though almost looks like the bench or what ever in the middle of the shot is not casting shadows on the ground. Then again this is a lower angle so I might not be able to tell.If the sun is higher in the sky you might want to think about harser shadows. If you look at shadows in the desert they are usually crisp because of the streghtn. This is clearly dependent on how you feel just putting in some suggestions.

Well I learned something new, very nicly worder Reno. I should prob go through my BMS maps and do some changes to make them run a little smoother instead of the VRAD times I get.
-
Loving the textures, and you got the lighting down. Great work cannot wait to see a finished a problem.

Not bad at all, anyone up for swapping drawings and we can paint over top of them? I got the idea off of Poly Count. I will be posting a picture I drew of a DreadNought from Warhammer 40k. It's a 15-20 min sketch and then I am gonna try to paint it better.
