I'm thinking a mix of a Normal Map, and an animated height map, the blacks and the white mix in and out and make the growth. I could be wrong, the thing I am more curious about is how they are making a collision for it on the fly.

I don't thnk they were holdind me from them so Don't make it sound weird, I mean as it was stated last page apprently I walked right by Andrew but didn't know it, so I could have talked to him.

My friend at school was in need of some models for her photography portfolio, so I decided I would give her a hand.

Ha Ha, hey Ferret, I had my interview yesterday, I mentioned you and Andrew my interview told them I was familiar with both of your works. I really enjoyed it out there, so perhaps I may be making another trip out there who knows :0

Cool, I will be looking into Unreal 3 soon. Don't know how far I will dive in but we shall see..... O and did they make ctrl+s save yet? If not it's a possibility I won't use the program

My personal belief is that it doesn't look all that good. Why, because when light hits an object it clearly depends on how bright the light is, and how close the object is to the source which the shadow is recieved. So the dimly lit blast pit is projecting shadows across to walls far away, with perfectly crisp shadows. I am not a light expert but these are my thoughts.

Thanks for the words guys, sorry I didn't get back to this earlier. I had my job interview at Raven which was awesome
really great place out there. Thanks for the comments on the Gun Game maps, both were made fast and with game play in mind. I have played it a few times and have enjoyed it, however there was a swap buffer problem in Autumn that sometimes makes the map a little laggy on client side.

As for the screenvshot posted, does look like factory, however it looks pretty empty and I'm not too impressed since it's supposed to be next gen. I mean were are the neutrons and electrons and particles and elements?

Hey guys, I'm glad to hear you like it. We have been working hard for a long time to bring a nice media release, and hearing people warm up to it is nothing but awesome. Those light map scales you see on blast pit are usually 1 or 2 I believe. It's part of his style that he works with.
I'm thinking the time behind this will pay off in the end. We have a lot done, but I will say we have a lot to do also. The levels have progressed 10 fold, however areas like scripted sequences are where we are focusing more work to. We are planning to make this work like HL2 to where everyone has something to do and things to say, not just 4 lines and standing around like in HL. So some extra love will be put into this I promise

haha well thanks guys, I do hope things go well, and if they do cool, if not
I'll give it my best, and if I get lucky perhaps I can shoot KFS a hello while im there. Thanks again for the congrats and good luck. -
I applied and have been chatting with HR recently. I am currently set to have an onsite interview in a week or so, so I am hoping things go well.

Well I can tell you I go to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and I have a learned a lot there, however I quickly realized it was more of how hard I pushed my self to learn then going to class. I have some awesome roomates who have taught me a lot of what I know, and have pushed me or lead me in the right direction.
if you are simply looking to learn a lot and work hard on things then you should look into some online communities that may help you. Poly Count, CGTalk, and me and my friends have forums up that we post all kinds of art and give each other help all of the time. If you want links to useful sites for things, tutorials, what ever I can get you a million. Do as you please, but I can advise you if you don't have to spend the money, then don;t I think you may be able to push your self hard enough with out blowing your money.

Yeah I prob should not have done that haha. Sorry about that. I will try to post some WIP here soon if I can get the clearence.

I must admit looks really awesome. Some more props here and there, perhaps stop signs maybe a stop light that works like assault. I don't know if boston is clean but doesn't hurt to throw trash on the ground. Can't wait to see more progress

Yeah definitly a great site, I am also waiting until my texture sources are depleted. I stumbled across this site the other day, didn't know if it was new or not. I like a lot of the concrete ones.

I must admit I am pretty excited. I love zombie games, and Tutrtle Rock has never let me down. One of my teachers from school is friends with the art lead, and his work has impressed me time and time again, so I cannot wait to see how they impliment it.

I just talked to a friend from Red Storm, he told me Splinter Cell is Ubisoft IP
Very good question lol, had me baffeld as hell. -
Yup the mod closed up. I actually took an art for them but I don't think I got a chance to finish. Shortly after the projects was shut down so I guess there wasn't much I would have done.
