actually i would say the vertex lighting in source and unreal are quit different !

in unreal by default it stores a color value per vertex in source every partition(leaf) gets a gi ish tnl light setup during the compile and the models determine from the center of their bounding box in what leaf they are and start using those tnl lights static and dynamic a like ( static ones probably don't check that each frame/tick though )

the csg/bsp system is also quit different BUT you can pretty much simulate the hammer/worldcraft way of life by just starting with a huge subtract brush and than just start adding into it its not very time efficient to do that though and probably will take you a quite a bit longer during the csg rebuilds ! but if you have problems understanding unreals system its maybe the way to go a lot of official unreal maps seam to be made that way (the open air stuff at least )

hmmm i have to pick one from this list:

syndicate, civ, hostage(counter strike 0.0 ), lemmings, shadow of the beast 3(is still think today that the graphics are fucking A), moonstone, vermer, flashback,

i guess i am gonna go with syndicate because it was the first to come to my mind when i compiled that list funny too how nobody has mentioned it yet ![actually somebody has]

i am serious too ! i don't know how i would display my theme /how id turn it into a game something gta-ish would be the easy way out (just form the design not form the development standpoint ) where you play a nerdy but funny kid that constantly in school at home at the cash register encounters things that enrage him ... now you'd need some sort of RAGE meter that you need to keep low and when you don't keep it low but constantly fuck that little guys live over he will do a school shooting and anger releases could be doing sports playing games playing with its dog / other pets having a girl friend some sort of creative hobby (maybe even 3d art or level design

a problem i see already as soon as the option to play games inside the game is given people will look at the game and not see that it is a top notch anger release valve but they will say... "HA SO IT IS THE GAMERS after all who would do a school shooting if they are just pissed enough !!!" even the edu game from the gamers says so !

so i am very open to more suggestions for a theme

    thats a great idea

what should we educate people about ?

that games aren't evil even though the main stream media claims they are ? maybe ?

i think edutainment (i know thats not precisely what it is) could be really great. animals learn things trough playing and and pretty much JUST playing so why cant we in our future scifi society that we have now ? well mainly because edutainment games are usually quality and usability wise complete rubbish. and yet theres the occasional game like... "sim city" ... i have learned so much more about infrastructure and how society works from that game than from school ^^ but yet sim citys main focus was fun and it was a top notch high quality game that didn't have to hide form everyone else.

now a comment more closely related to that video:

i don't buy into the opinions of people who make a living off of peoples misery ( psychiatrists and news reporters tieing for the lead).

that woman is not trying to make a difference or actually provide something for society by grabbing the evil by its roots ...

other wise she would have designed a game for adults that prevents em from start hating each other as soon as they have a child ... or don't get a child to begin with !!!
