first of all i support the "assassins creed dev diary"-spoof theory i didnt even get the whole jade raymond thing until after the fact and yet i saw this video and it made perfect sense to me from the first second. its allaround tame and funny id say. id prefer if no game devleopers would have to resolve to these kind of methods (thats goes to both thq and ubi) and that games would be able to sell themselves based on realtime gameplay footage alone.

but is this a sign for game industrys immaturity ? i think not at least not if compared to the movies and tv industrys. they have been around for quite a while longer and they pull the same kind of shit and sometimes worse. for example i am a hardcore imdb user i check that site at least 4 times a day and their news (not the reason why i go there) are bursting out of all seams with the newest miss adventures of all sorts of slutty 14 year old girls getting nude pictures taken and having them leak onto the internet. one girl and the marketing people behind her need to be pointed out especially: "milly ray cyrus" she is in the news like everyday i dont know what exactly it is she is doing (sure as hell not singing or acting) but i know for sure her entire career and the marketing of her products is build on her bieng jailbait. the game industry has reached THAT level of maturity a long time ago

i am rather opinion less when it comes to those kind of simple fun maps to be honest.

but as people said there is lighting in these maps, the textures look aligned and well chosen for their purposes,

so i guess i have to give it my blessing for the execution because that is much more than i have seen in the handful of "FUN" maps that i do know.

also i must applaud you for your respond to hessis admittedly harsh post ! (that i kind of agree with to some extend)

when i read hessis post i had a precise image in my head what your respond would look like. luckily it looked it looked completely different it was non confrontational, polite and honest. and shows actual willingness to learn.

so i am putting my faith into you that you will rise with the challenge and achieve greatness ! ...don't disappoint me !

... i toughed the choice of music and the lack of a "trailer voice guy" and not even using the bond theme or showing of the new product placement car was afresh bold new direction that showed a certain WILLINGNESS to take risks ... now it turns out that the actual movie is just run of the mill bond with all clichees in place for the trailer ... ... ...

and yes that counter strike metal texture got my eye brows raised but its not the first time it has shown up in a hollywood products !

In short: it's a shader that allows you to texture terrains for games without unwrapping and seamlessly.

THAT IS TOTALY AWSOME !

i am playing uncharted right now and they definitely use some sort source engine like blend texture transition between all their materials. and i was wondering how they get it to be so fucking seamless and so distortion free ... and what the work flow for that stuff would look like
