Maybe its me, but I got a massive sense of deja vu when scrolling through it all briefly.

It all seemed to be the same

    Any newer stuff than HL1?

Few years later, 2002-2004. Some of the most fun times I had mapping and most popular maps I made:

    dod_bierville

    [Blocked Image: http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/8862/bierville3nd1.th.jpg]

Capture The Pub? Can't go wrong with that.

    dod_density

    [Blocked Image: http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/4323/density1ug6.th.jpg]

    [Blocked Image: http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6859/density2io2.th.jpg]

The hill added a very interesting dynamic to the map, the Brits being on it caused no problem with a lack of MG as they didn't need to defend anything and there was always a german MG rolling around somewhere.

    CPU's a bit...meh.

No framerate problems for me, especially after I ditched my 6800GTOC for a 7900GS.

No phong problems and displacement rendering problems either like the 6800GT's have.

It's not that dark, can't see anything in the top half but that makes it spooky.

Well I tried playing with Skalg's tips, doesnt seem to make too much difference.

Vikings seem to run faster than you can back and combined with a charged up big fucking axe attack with a seemingly huge hit radius is getting annoying now.

I'm seeing the axe come down 3-5ft away from me ingame and dieing from it, could be lag but I've not seen a margin as big as that in any other Source Game.

Knights however, are not easy to kill, but fun and possible. Vikings just seem to be spamwhores Especially as everyone seems to join the Viking team now knowing their power!

I think I'd do a few things, reduce the range on the axes and tweak the damage down a bit. Or reduce the 2 weapon fire rate by about half or perhaps even make the player have to use both LMB and RMB, tap alternatly to attack? Could be interesting and the lack of a block could allow the damage to stay the same.

Also some little sound when your special meter is full, it usually fills up in manic combat and I always miss it, or dont have time to look up before I get pounced on by another 3 vikings

Edit: Was on island or whatever one it is you have to get the treasure chests and the Vikings won with 2 guys, they just got the chests slowly and then just went crazy around their ship, the knights could just about take it with 3-4 of them but with 4 pirates we couldnt do a thing

Yeah its a very polished first release, raises the bar for other mod teams

    *grumble*

I guess you already had the tried and tested format from PVK so thats half the battle won.

    I'll try that.

I can usually hold my own 1 on 1 (pirates for life) but due to the confined nature of most of the maps it usually ends up 3 on 1

Got a 6 kill with the powder keg earlier, everyone was fighting each other and I rolled it in the middle

Vikings are very overpowered from the last 3 hours I played.

One attack is pure spam where they hold LMB and circle strafe you till dead, the other has such as massive damage radius and you cant block it.

    Other than that, top notch.

Yeah, all this GBX pimping you did and now your looking elsewhere?

If I was your employer I wouldn't be very happy. I've seen people be fired/contract terminated for lesser stuff.

    2) Get Ham and Jam released in one form or another.

    3) Kill the Chavs on our street in Carlisle.

The one thing that worries me about RnL is how far they are taking the realism.

I'm all for realism, but I think their bordering on the limit and it will be so realistic it won't be fun to play.

Disabling team chat is one example. Sure its realistic, but it will certainly make things interesting.
