I would've been going to GDC but GameCon takes priority for the moment, sadly had to give up the week in Cologne as I'm on holiday in France for the latter half of the week. Didn't fancy some crazy travelling across Europe to get to my hol's.

    Maybe next time.

  • Thinking if getting a new ISP

Our phone infrastructure was done in the 1900's, fibre optic areas are few and far between. A lot of cities are only just getting it now, BT want a few £bn to do the country.

I've used BT in 3 houses in 3 different locations (Rural Norfolk, city centre Cumbria and suburbs Nottingham) and its always been good for me. Of course if things go wrong it would be a nightmare phonecall to India, then again I've heard terror stories of pretty much all ISP's.

Forgot Thrik's in the mighty Nottingham

Can't see myself getting an iPhone, other phones do what it does better/cheaper/easier.

I've just got a vodafone SIM card, £15/mo for 600mins/Unlimited texts on a 1mo rolling contract. Just buy whatever phone I need and use it in it.

EA has said that Crysis 2 will be released this autumn and will be preceded by the unceasingly popular multiplayer beta.

The autumn target was specified in an advert in trade mag MCV, EA having previously said to expect it in calendar-Q4. October or November, then, presumably.

As for the beta, there are no exact details on it, but fans of Crytek's output who sign up to today's relaunched MyCrysis service (thanks VG247) will be in with a shout, according to the developer.

Check out our most recent Crysis 2 hands-on preview to find out what happens when nanosuits get real in New York.

Crysis 2 is due out for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

These days 90% of the community that want to play mods expect professional quality stuff from mods. If it doesn't look gorgeous they don't care what the gameplay is like, releasing often without some form of auto patching alienates people who aren't used to downloading stuff and manually running updates for games.

Sad state of affairs, not like the good old days.

Heh, I guess it's in part cause I'm stupid enough to wanna try and "be prepared" before I apply, although I may never feel ready enough

I started work at Crytek without ever opening Sandbox...although I guess you'd be more Level Design rather than Design like me.

I get someone else to do mine mainly Haven't actually done a huge amount yet but from what I can figure I pass my designs off to other people to do stuff on, then tweak rather than create.
