Very nice Reno ! I must say I know the feeling, having experienced it first hand a month ago, and I know you must feel very proud right now !

Yep, Unreal 3 for sure. I just hope valve can hold their own with whatever they work on next. I mean Unreal and Epic are great and all but I'd rather not see the entire Industry end up using the same engine, no matter how promising it looks now.
If you haven't seen the GDC Crysis footage, you should watch that. Even if Valve can't hold their own in the next gen war, it's pretty certain now we'll have at least 2 engines to work with, and not just one. Crysis imho beats Unreal 3

I've seen another HRES screen in my inbox at work, I'll try and dig it up tomorrow (that was like a month ago)

Wal-Mart will have a hard time convincing Rockstar that they can't make GTA because "it's baaaad" when the game will sell a million copies in its first week.
And I think they'll kiss their smiley goodbye when they see their competitors cranking up the cash on the GTA copies and they missed out on it because, again "it's baaad"

Is it just me or does this map has some sort of focal distance issue? Like the foreground textures look somewhat distorted and stretched before it becomes fine again.
I'm not familiar with Doom 3 and even less with its engine, but that's the way I feel looking at those pics. Nice textures btw.

Best of luck in your search, I can't say that I know of any position here in France. If there's anything at all, would you be willing to relocate to the riviera?

Frankly this is one of the best examples against piercing

I hope for them they made their market research homework. If they don't reach their forecast, that reason could be a very good scapegoat

I don't play CSS so I wouldn't know how well it plays, but for the sheer effort of making everything custom, I must hand it out to you, this is art wise in the top 3 ever, of all games I've seen or played.

I'm sure most of you on the Source engine know these sites already, this is for the newcomers:
Snarkpit: http://www.snarkpit.net/
A (rare) French tutorial on a lot of things: http://nyko18.free.fr/Hammer/?p=optimisation#II_3_B
Free sounds and sound effects for everyone: http://www.partnersinrhyme.com/
Halfwit2:http://halfwit-2.com/?page=tutorials&action=view&item=44
Obviously the Valve wiki should be listed as well:

Killing Grounds has closed (AKG) and now redirects to the Valve wiki. I'll post my Source links tonight when I'm home.

Not that I have any ideas, but I always thought Insects Infestation was a pretty original and creative idea....

it's an excellent book for car trips. i keep mine pressed between a large encyclopedia and the shelf with a clamp to make sure it doesn't get wrecked durring the summer (it gets a little humid in MN, and the power goes out occaisionally)
Actually, I had mine in the train from Dijon to Montpellier on my way to my interview at Ubi, and this guy facing me wanted to look at it too, then the guy next to him, who was looking for a mapper for a job, gave me his business card in case Ubi wasn't successful.
I'm telling you this book can get you far
