That's just as hot as any map could ever be given the engine. Mad props to you, stunning is the word that comes to mind right away

Hell I showed it around here at work and asked what engine they thought this was on, and everyone was amazed

Or why the next GTA will not be a PS3 exclusive

We use these links at work to get reference pics to base our levels on. Thought you guys would like them too.

It really looks just great, and there's a Loco Roco sense to it too that makes it all the more appealing
I just learned at work that the guy that made this is the same ex Lionhead studio guy that made Ragdoll Kung Fu.

Yeah that's one of the last doom II levels iirc

Spotlight material indeed. Excellent visuals for the HL engine. Welcome to Mapcore !

-
Just a quick question since I can't run the map (offline at home so I can't launch steam, don't have HL2 at work). I downloaded the map here at work and vmex'd it to check that glow effect. I was surprised to see so many sprites, and I was wondering what was the performance hit if any ?

If you're looking for more info on specific games/engines, I can say I've tried Rainbow Six Vegas (Unreal3) on the exact same rig I was planning to buy at a friend's place, and everything was cranked up and it was smooth as butter.
Then again he only was running at 1280x1024.

Great brushwork indeed
and nice subtle enough lighting too -
Ncore 2 duo 6600
Geforce 8800 GTS
2 GB of Ram.
That's what I was gonna get, until I learned of some changes in my contract, which'll make me wait a bit

Don't get me wrong Reno, watching my DVDs as I did this week end on a 22" widescreen is a blast
Beats my TV any day. You'll find though, that you'll grow very used to your screen rapidly, so the novelty aspect of "wow this is just huge" will wear out before a week passes.
Now where's my old dual 30" Apple Cinema Display setup from back in my Apple days.....
-
Yeah, it's up to a point where my brand new 22' screen at home already feels kinda small for work... Then again, my 20' here at work feels a lot worse
-
There goes another nail bitting wait

It's going to be such an awesome game. And yes I did buy a PS2 for GoW I (knowing there'd be a II, and Guitar Hero as well)
-
I'm sure it can't be as bad as RE 4 on PC. yet again, one never knows
-
Coolest. Trailer. Ever. Finally a company that makes fun of the genre and its own games.

It looks like your HDR settings use a different ambiant than LDR, and that's what's creating that difference. HDR should bring higher contrasts, but the end result here is quite the opposite. What are your light_environment settings?

Canon EOS series ftw. The 350D is a great buy at a great price. Well I guess that might depend on how much you think a "great price" is
