Thanks for posting that Jeremy, I was waiting for a post like this. Yes the bewilderment is natural to have for all gamers, but it was the business side of it all that had me more interested.

I'm happy for you you got quite the career bump with this new project. Best of luck with it, it sounds like an interesting project to be a part of, right from the start.

Alright, finally got around to making these squares a thing of the past. Also made the site more consistent and readable.

Should be about done as far as I'm concerned.

I really dig that minimalistic approach. You can either go the stupid and boring way and make a complete CG trailer that doesn't show gameplay nor anything vaguely connected to the actual game, because you simply have nothing to show (Prince of Persia original CG trailer) or you can decide to be creative since you don't have anything to show, that you'll actually show NOTHING.

Result is 10 times more hype.

I'm really excited to see this thing going as far as possible. This raises more questions the moment you start thinking about it, but it would be such a cool way for the industry to evolve its business model

I'm not exactly over excited about this one. Seems on par with the best console engines out there already.

wait, what? Looking at it from both a consumer and publisher perspective, I can't see how funneling all the big releases into the same 2 month time span helps anyone. Whenever a Halo or Call of Duty is set to come out, stay the fuck out of its way. It's nothing but smart to try and avoid those periods, IMO.

Because going by the movies industry standard: summer = people going away on holiday, enjoying the life outside = entertainment that goes with it. Movies have followed that trend for years, with very few exceptions.

Applied to games, especially one that comes out on consoles and not handhelds, this tells me no one will even think of getting it before they come back from their holiday and its price tag has already been slashed in half.

I"m absolutely in favor of less games cramping up the stage during the holiday season, but summer is still the one period I would consider any console game to perform less. Something like September through to June are all good time frames. Yet as Kotaku mentioned it again yesterday for this week's releases, spring is coming and the drought of new releases comes to a stop finally...

It's because his is the old type of GTS. The new GTS is better than the 8800GT, the old one is worse. NVIDIA's product naming convention is, as usual, baffling.

Well I didn't even know there were two different GTS models, except for the 320 and 640MB ones when they just came out and the GTX was the top of the line. I used to have a 640 GTS myself, which died along with some zombies in L4D late last year

I know that there is a current trend in the industry to try and move away from the crowded holiday season, but at the same time, this game trying to get released over the summer is making me think no one actually believes it will be a hit. Truth be told what's be shown so far hasn't exactly interested me all that much either.

A summer release, to me, means you don't even want to go head to head with the fall releases of the year...
