I think anyone that would shun the idea of working for a company like Blizzard has to consider his real intentions of working in the industry.

Well I found the movie was very average to say the least...
Technically astounding, but it's only a series of postcards and technological prowess that doesn't help serve a sub standard Pocahontas plot that you can see coming a mile away. Extremely Manichean concepts and characters that are barely developed or explained. James Cameron is talented enough that the movie never falls into Bruckheimer/Michael Bay bullshit territory, but as a movie it fails to capture my imagination beyond a few very cool character concepts, all related to the fauna and flora of Pandora (connecting with fiber optics via the hair of all living species is very cool for instance)

Congrats on the new position Reno !

I want to see this succeed so bad. If only to shake things up in the current 20+ years old distribution model of our industry. AC2 came out recently and it sold well so I'm happy with it, but I still hate to see used copies being sold 5 bucks off the retail price and I don't see a freaking dime on it. Yes customers should be able to resell whatever they bought, but the current model feels like I'm getting robbed every time.
On a personal level regarding gaming, I can't tell you the number of times I've walked into a store and came out empty handed because I felt the prices were atrocious. There are maybe 3-4 games a year that deserve a 60 dollars price tag, if that. I was happy to get Arkham Asylum for 40 bucks on release day, and felt like it gave me 40 bucks worth of entertainment (I loved it). These days it's back up at 65 dollars and it's 4 months old already. Borderlands was 40 bucks when it launched too, and it's jacked up to 70 now.
Screw this, Steam is getting so much more of my money by pricing things right (most of the time). I want OnLive to become my Steam on my TV (that I don't have yet) so I can have a console service that feels as good as my pc service.

They already have them for those worthy of them. The screens for AC2 are frame captures of official videos for now. I took out the pics for DM and in the case of RRR I can't possibly get better shots than the IGN ones.

I just spent some time updating my portfolio, making it even easier to contact me on all pages, and streamlining the site more in the process.

Anyone that wasn't getting a good deal to start off with and remained at 3DR for this long only has himself to blame.

As promised all these moons ago, you have my bucks too !

Again I fail to see where anyone would be surprised.

I like the content, I would work on the navigation of the site a little bit. I just like to progress through a website as opposed to hitting back to go back to where I can choose other things to look at.

My own recipe for motivation is a healthy blend of feeling like my work actually goes towards something valuable, receiving people's feedback, and testing something I just made and realizing on the spot what works and what doesn't. That gets me fired up real fast.
On the contrary, if I ever know that my work is not going to go into a final product, or contribute directly to it, I can't even find the motivation to start the program that I would be doing the work on.
So yeah that makes me a production guy.

S-E invited me many moons ago when I was going to be on vacation in Europe...I also thought I would be in Montreal for the Ubisoft Christmas party the same day, and I'll eventually be in Brazil, hopefully getting some caïpirinhas into my liver.
Say what you will about international travels, there's always a good opportunity to drink

I sense an idea that came straight from a Marketing think tank.
"Activision is making money hands over fist with their CoD franchise"
"We should try to take a part of that pie! What war franchise do we have?"
"Battlefield is already doing well, we can't risk overflooding the market with another spin-off"
"Ok let's revive Medal of Honor. Modern battles seems to be the new WWII, what can we do with this?"
"I know I know! Let's go for Afghanistan. The conflict is not going to be solved for another few years, so that also gives us plenty of time to think of sequels after the first game!"
The problem is you need to be better than CoD at this point to even stand a chance. So how much money are you going to spend on development AND marketing to even try to take the lead in that race? So either you fail miserably and forget the whole thing, or you make a reasonable amount of cash, but you still need a couple other installments to take that crown. Nevermind the fact that it would be a lot better to give this project to a extremely successful FPS team already, that can stick together for a few more years. The Infinity Ward model so to speak.
Giving the MP to DICE is a nice move, because that's what they do best. And this is also the most important component of the game. But the SP has to kick COD's ass big time. And that will take an enormous amount of talent
