Frie, on the subject of Steve Jobs, I can assure you he has an army of secretaries with access to his pro email account everyone has. Only a handful of people ever get to read an email he wrote

But yeah, it's a misconception and a very usual one at that. I have spoken to every single one of the CEOs I worked under, and have had design discussions with almost all of them too.

It's the best portfolio I've seen on Mapcore, hands down. If not for content, at least in terms of navigation and ease of use.

Yeah most likely that was done by the same guy, that's clearly his touch all over it

I can't wait to play this and see what my friends and former colleagues added to the game. There are so many new features in this game we talked about last year as a cool thing to add, and they actually worked them all in in this short amount of time, that's going to be awesome.

I also really want to see what came of the ballistics gameplay sequence I prototyped for AC2 last year. Unfortunately it was cut from the game for lack of time to polish Sequence 12 (same sequence that got released as DLC, only with half the content originally planned for it) so I never got a chance to finish that, but I know it's in able hands. It was a fully working prototype that needed about a month of love and I know they have added more than that to it so it should play great.

I know artists should be showing their work first and foremost, but I'm getting the same feedback from multiple people in this industry, it very much helps everyone to have a bit of text to explain how you worked and what you did. It helps you showing you really know your craft and it helps people that would interview you to prepare some questions. It's an all around better discussion because of it.

Small bump since I just finished a small addition to my portfolio. Besides adding Crysis 2 there, I also decided to provide longer explanations to each game I worked on, as that had been pointed out before. Same for my full resume which I want to actually say a bit more than being a simple collection of bullet points.

As always, any feedback is welcome, and if you want me to go in more details regarding each project, I can add some more. I usually keep that for phone interviews though. Tease and don't reveal too much

Well I just tried MGS4 for 45 minutes before uninstalling it. Somewhere in the year 2000, Kojima decided to go all cinematics and movies on me, and I couldn't be arsed. Of course I heard all about that back when the game was released, but damn I can't play this and have fun.

I loved MGS back in 98, beat it about 20 times, got all endings, would do speed runs in under 3 hours. That was back when Snake actually did something on the screen. The cutscenes were great for the time, and would act as rewards for the actions you just did, or as introduction to a new environment. Now the moment you leave a trigger is just to enter a new one and lose control of Snake once more. And again, and again. And again after all.

    Not for me.

    I'll bite...

After 5 months of waiting for my stuff to arrive from Canada, I picked up my first PS3 about a month ago, and have been going through the list of must play games on the platform. So far:

Uncharted 2, God of War Collection, Infamous, Little Big Planet, and I picked up my own Prince of Persia once more and just finished it again, and picked up Mirror's Edge too just to remind myself how poorly factored gameplay ingredients and character interaction can frustrate a player.

I still have God of War 3, MGS4, Heavy Rain and Heavenly Sword to go through later.

Cause you have life insurance HP? How much would you say it's worth? 250K? Think that covers your loved ones for what? 6-7 years?

Ah, so Royce also left for Respawn as well. Makes sense, IW surely must be a ghost town at this point.

Yeah I saw an update from him on LinkedIn. Incidentally, IW started a mass recruitment phase over on Edge on Monday, they got all the hot jobs of the week slots

Congrats Arthur, you deserve this change
