It was a timed exclusive on Origin for the first 3 days, it's now available on Steam.

My most anticipated game of 2012 for sure. And it's been for a while now. I'm looking forward to this as much as any Valve game, so that's saying a lot.

Not in the UK, but for a comparable price I had my own studio in Montpellier in 2006, in the center of the historic downtown district. 24 square meters for 425 euros.

Quote from Corwin
I don't know if I can share the few infos we got at crytek, so I won't, but Froyok doesn't seem too far from the truth, except micro-transactions aren't the problem
Hopefully it'll be back on steam when valve and crytek figure out a way to be friends againCrytek doesn't control jack shit about its distribution, it's all EA. EA controls everything business wise with the Crysis franchise.

Oh yeah, thanks for having me do this

It's most likely SQEX Japan that made this trailer, much like they did all the Deus Ex ones.
All the same, it's a bold new step for the age old franchise, so I'll be paying attention this time around more than before.

except Fallout 3 looked like shit.
Sorry it's true.

Jobs made his own wealth, and he took all the risks and had all the passion, so he can talk about that if he wants to.
All the same, passion is one thing, stupidity is another. Work is work and that should be paid regardless of the "passion" you put in.
Having worked at Apple, I can assure you the people putting in the extra effort get compensated very well. With the exception of a few stellar people whom you "have to pay or they'll get a better deal somewhere else", I have yet to see that in the industry.

Congrats Chimeray! You've been doing great this year !
Just added you SlowDev
Welcome to the forums -
These laws exist pretty much everywhere in the developed countries, France and Canada have the same. The games industry simply chooses not to adhere to them.
A friend of mine once told me of the crunch he did at Pandemic in LA. It was voluntary, and paid. He made 14K in a month to finish Lord of the Rings Conquest. Now that's overtime I can get behind.

The Gothenburg studio is one thing, the Barcelona one is another entirely. That one should never have seen the light of day. You simply don't open up a brand new studio in a city with very limited games industry talent pool to pick from, in a different country and a few thousand kms from your HQ just because "you signed up with a publisher for a couple games". You take the project internally at your mothership, grow organically there, see what the future is made of once and only once you've actually shipped those.
-
They forgot to shine the bad light on themselves too for having opened way too many studios and hired too many people too fast before securing projects left and right.

I've crunched more days than I care to remember, probably best for my sanity. 28 consecutive days on AC2 to fix 400 bugs by myself. I was the 3rd largest bug fixer in Jira for the 450+ team. The two others up top were the engine programmers who had 1 more year on the project than me. I thought that would be the most crunch I'd ever do, only to have that beaten on Crysis 2 with a full 70 consecutive days spent at work to optimize the game from hell to something that would run on consoles.
In both cases, I was told I wouldn't be on the team for the follow up project. So my conclusion to crunch time is: Do it if you feel concerned enough with your project, or don't if you don't care enough. But don't expect to keep your position when the project ends either way.

Like I told you last week, you stole my job
Congrats and say Hi to Bill for me
Changing you on the roster

Yep SP all the way. Meaning once again I will not buy it but will play a friend's copy. All the same, haters gonna hate but the truth is these guys can school any of us in the art of making something looking that epic all the time.

Whoever thinks these levels will only be accessible to those that pre-ordered the game are very ignorant of the game industry's practices. They will absolutely be a Day 1 5 or 10 bucks download to everyone else.
This is a pre-order INCENTIVE. It helps Gamestop and Wallmart figure out how many copies they really should buy from EA. Hence giving it for free because EA is making more money from the large retailers buying a more precise number of copies for themselves instead of either coming up short or having way too many unsold copies a few months after release they'd have to send back to EA. Everybody wins.

I take it the 7th of June or 6th of July is the next time we'll get some info about it? I hope this barcode doesn't indicate release date otherwise you guys are in for a hell of a crunchtime

-
yeah Gametrailers gave it a 7.9 average, that's considerably lower than I was expecting. Particularly from GT.
Mad kudos to them though for having shipped this game with that small team of theirs.
