Not getting it so far this morning @ work on Firefox or IE (Didn't visit from home PC over the weekend just in case..). Hopefully PHPBB3 has fixed it.

  • buffer underrun?

I think it's likely you have an undetected infection. Switching to Firefox will not get rid of it nor will it protect you in the future.

Buffer underruns are symptomatic of more than one thing. Check out the following links, grab Spybot & Hiijack This, run both then see if you can get a handle on what it might be and how to get rid of it.

I like it. Fresh new look for a fresh new year. The layout threw me for a couple of mins but it's quick to get used to.

    Nice one Mojo.

There's also a new GTS coming out soon based on the new architecture that the GT has, which may provide even more excellent price/performance value. The existing GTS range is basically obsolete (think of the GT as a new series in that respect) and I couldn't even think of recommending it to anyone.

I think you may be a little out of date on this Thrik? The 65nm process, G92core 8800GTS came out today, check the reviews I posted above. It kicks ass.

Get a new system with an 8800 GTX as they piss all over the GTS range.

Sorry Dux but that's bollocks. Unless you are running a monitor over 24" 1920x1200 I wouldn't bother. GTS has excellent performance and overclockers.co.uk have em in stock as of this afternoon. Doubtful they'll stay in stock long though if the GT was anything to go by.

    Couple of reviews for you.

    6th year in games dev

    Bought house

    Bought big telly

    Bought loads of new records

Played too many games. GF complained

    2008:

    7th year in games dev

Mucho DIY work on new house

    Buy more records

Buy GF 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure' and hook up to big telly to distract her.

    Continue gaming lots

  • EA download manager ftw

Figured out part of my problems. The archives EA download manager downloads to install the game from are single files similar to Steam's gcfs. Now if you are downloading the cache to a drive formatted to fat32 (I was puling down to a large external drive) fat32 does not allow single files larger than 4g (32 bit) so the download manager would die as soon as the file reached this size.

Talk about a fundamental programming f*ckup.

Gah its a catalogue of errors. I now get "You do not have space to install this game" on a drive that has 114g of space on it. I am about to defenestrate my PC and my girlfriend is looking kinda scared.

Noticed a lot of people who critique lack kindness.

Often skills too (not dissing you guys above just making a general comment).

Don't take umbrage at the negative comments mate. Even if you make the best map in the world someone somewhere won't like it. The map shows some promise to me. It's clearly a wip as you say, but has potential.

If you want some help working with displacements in source give me a shout, I've used them a fair bit on CSS maps and on the multiplayer maps for the Dark Messiah game so have a fair grasp of what can be achieved.

Nice to see another Brighton bod on the forums too

Looks pretty functional as an arena in which to frag, but greatly lacks detail for a source map. Also you seem to have a lot of visibility across most of the outside sections which will likely give you performance problems and is potentially damaging to the game play. Lots of the brushwork needs replacing with models.
