Masses of potential in those shots, nice work.
Are you planning on releasing a gameplay beta of it before you get fully into resing it up?

Eurogamer recently spawned a lovely term for all the xbox fanboy - PS3 haters out there. They are terming them 'xbots'.
Laughed my ass off *klunk*
Anyways, back to Stalker ![]()
Better than the Duty one, Identical to the SEVA suit you can buy off Sakharov after turning off the psi emitter. It's got a full face shiny dome helm thing on it and is worth 25k. The SEVA is worth 30k but the stats are identical to this one.
5 days since launch and there is a patch out already.

Sadly it's incompatible with old game saves ![]()
Quote from ginger_lordI went into Gamestation and GAME on the way back from Uni today, both had PS3's instock.Amazon and most major e-retailers I can see have them in stock.
I'm not a gambling man but I'd put money down on people not buying it rather than Sony miraculously delivering hundreds of thousands of units.
You'd likely lose.
Sony delivered 1 million units of PS3 to PAL territories on launch day (360 launched with a quarter of this stock and no more supplies due before Xmas '06). Of these over 550,000 units have been sold through to consumers across the 3 days of launch weekend. In the UK £100 million of PS3 hardware has been sold making it the biggest selling console launch by a huge margin.
Resistance Fall of Man and Motorstorm took top chart position in every PAL market with Formula 1 close behind.
I'm not trying to fanboy it up here but please, keep an objective opinion about it and look at the numbers.
Personally I love the fact that there was more supply than demand. All those tossers on eBay who bought PS3s hoping to make a killing supplying to those who really wanted one but couldn't get one have found themselves selling at a loss. Bwahahahaha.
(Edit on re-reading this sounds a bit preachy, I don't mean to be I'm just a bit sick of the endless Sony hate that seems to be endlessly spread across every single gaming site the last 12 months).
***MINOR SPOILERS!!***
Something I have recently noticed is the way that depending upon when you go to an area the monsters there seem to change. For example, in the X-18 (I think its 18, the one in the Dark Valley) first time it's full of Bandits in the factory above then a Snork and plenty of mutants inside. Later, once you have completed the mission inside the lab to retrieve the docs you fight back through it and it's Spetznaz and some pseudodogs.
Later still I returned there (because I had missed the monolith suit and the underbarrel grenade launcher fixing) and the upper levels were literally rammed with these evil mutated rats who swarmed at me whilst inside the lab it was stacked full of snorks.
Love these changes in monster types depending upon your progression through the storyline. Makes it worth going back to everywhere you've been before to see who is now nesting there since you exterminated the last inhabitants ![]()
Me being my normal friendly self. Taken about a month ago. It's 7am and I have been clubbing at Fabric in London all night.
You could probably figure that out by the state of me though ![]()

For anyone who doesn't know, Ken Levine the lead designer on SS2 has been working on Bioshock, the 'Spiritual Successor' to SS2 for the last X amount of years. It's due out in the Autumn.
New Teaser for it on Eurogamer today http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?p ... d=2471&s=l
The website is pretty sweet too http://www.2kgames.com/bioshock/enter.html

QuoteIm not a coder or anything but when I take a look at the source at the place where that code is produced, its (as far as i can tell) trying to count the faces neighbouring a certain vertex. (these faces are called neighbours). when vrad encounters more neighbours than it expected, it throws this error. My conclusion is that you have a too complex or invalid brushbtw, I also see something about smoothing groups, may be something to do with too many faces neighbouring each other in the same smoothing group
I vaguely remember coming across this one while making some of the Dark Messiah maps. I believe it can also be where a single lightmap is shared across too many faces.
Zombie@computer is always worth asking if no one else can fix your problems. He lurks about on interlopers and on the VERC forums.
Played through SS2 sooooo many times. Truly awesome title, never forget the first time I came across it. Popped over a mates place for the evening, he loaded it up and said here you go play this, I gotta pop out get some smoke.
Two hours later when he returned I was sat in a corner under a blanket rocking gently *There's no place like home, there's no place like home*
(Well not quite but I did have to stop playing and turn all the lights on a couple of times).
Fave enemy Psy-Reaver, fave weapon, hmm maybe Viral Proliferator, maybe Worm Launcher, but then the energy rapier kinda rocked too once you maxed the skill out. Heh think I know what I'll be playing again after Stalker ![]()
It was an hour you'd had on credit for the last 6 months Mazy. Consider it lucky you didn't have to pay any interest on it ![]()
Spent all day yesterday playing it, though there are certainly plenty of flaws and bugs, I have to agree with everyone else here in saying it's excellent fun. Best shooter I've played since HL2, possibly better in terms of it's ambition and scope.
Ti's bloody hard though, or perhaps it was ambitious of me to start it on too high a difficulty level (thank fook for quicksave) I didn't want to finish it too quickly though, and at this rate I am certainly not going to ![]()
Sony give away quarter of a million quids worth of tellys but can't even afford to give their dev staff free consoles ![]()

I think that's a generation below min spec Deads ![]()
I took a walk down Oxford Street this lunchhour (Big shopping street in central London for those who don't know) and popped into Game HMV and Virgin. THere were three copies of Stalker left to preorder in Game and the other two stores had completely sold out. Madness. Reckon it's going to outsell the PS3 ![]()
Agree with Koko. The textures look very nice, but they are extremely flat. Add some normal maps to them and get some variation in lighting throughout the scene. It will really bring your work to life and give the scene that next-gen look.
Our office got their PS3 and games given out yesterday afternoon (except me I am poor and couldn't afford one even discounted). ![]()
We have been trying out a bunch of the games that are rated 1 star on the BC listings and I am happy to report that even with these games we have been struggling to find any significant problems. The worst I have seen in the 1 star rated stuff is stuttering video during cutscenes. Certainly none of the missing parts of environment, rendering in black and white or other nastiness that the doomsayers have been coming out with.
Since he didn't pimp it I will...
Hessi has some great tutorials on Maya to Source. Using Maya, Prall's exporter and Hessi's shelf you can get models compiled and into game with one click.
Highly recommended ![]()
Something about those stairs looks wrong to me, not the scale but just kinda the positioning of them relative to the rest of the building. Also the thickness of the borders on them. I would kinda expect to see metal, fire escape type stairs rather than these kinda solid sided things you got going on here.
Other than than minor niggle though the scene is top mate, Great work ![]()
