After looking at all the pics, I deleted many of them simply since I couldn't see myself using them (as in making textures with them). If you guys have more architectural ref pics, then those would be even more appreciated by yours truly Still, many thanks for sharing this

quoted for truth. i really appreciate that you have put some time into making photos and sharing them with us, but in my opinion you need to learn how to make references people will actually be able to use. for example you got lots of nice ground textures but it seems like you made photos with a strong zoom or were too close. 4 brick stones are not enough to make a texture. sometimes images are unsharp because you used some kind of automatic mode while running in low iso values.

in any way: you are still very young and got still got lots of time to become better thanks for the share!

german towns/villages look completely different! here are some examples:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.thomashess.net/german_towns.jpg]

so in my opinion you have to completely restart and use proper textures that match the architecture of the 20's and 30's. if you need texture resources i am sure i can help out.

btw. german towns had not that many "Fachwerk" buildings. even if you look at the center of a small village you will see impressive buildings made of stone (like the small tower thing at the bottom). photos are taken from "Ettlingen" near "Karlsruhe" and "Freiburg"

Hi,this is my next & ldd project (Over 1 year old). Everyone knows de_bahrain(v2) made by Warbeast for Counter-Strike? This will be an 1 to 1 port. (With the permission.)

The Textures are ported. So i need someone who can make some high quality textures from the original ones.

you even keep the brushed guns/generators? you could least boost the graphics by more detail and better use of source engines features like displacements and 3d sky.

It looks weird and rushed... it's pretty obvious that you used 4 photos: top, middle part, transition and bricks. Besides that, the transition looks too dark to look convincing.

so what should i change? except for the generic normalmapping shit.

Nice though Hessi. I like how the gameplay will change compared to the player.

Even if you're on the way to enhance the dods' gameplay, that physic ramp should embarrass the player's movement... How will you fix that ?

    onAlliesCap -> disableMotion

you can trigger the explosion. let everything fall down which would take like 5 seconds. then freeze all physics by disabling motion.

i wasted a few minutes on a sketch for a maplayout on a DOD:S map.

    [Blocked Image: http://www.thomashess.net/rough_layout.gif]

though there are lots of normandie maps and even more beach maps i'd like to go for it anyway

there the i'd like the bridge to be a way for the allies but after 4 bombs the axis forces can block this way so allies can only attack from two sides. i like the idea of a changing layout during gameplay. the radar should become a ramp after it got bombed (like in my video from freya model).

the main goal would be allied froces should bomb all axis objectives (big gun, radar, ammunition camp, 88 battery). i should actually brush that thing and check out if that is possible. wide range fights would be appreciated

I R WIN !!!!seriously though hessi should have won ... he took the contest serious while i didn't.

i kinda just wanted to mock the guidelines because normal maps and this old school quake 1 ish lowpoly weapon modeling kinda don't belong together in my eyes.

disqualifying my weapon for killing the back faces however is wrong i say. because the quake 1 weapons are also basically 3d sprites.

if i could still edit my vote id vote hessi and bring me down to 19 and hessi to 20 ... than again hessi has probably voted for himself as well

i am still working on it. i added some finer rust to the model and some rust bubbles. second i am creating the LODs and then i might make it destroyable D: so people can use it as a map objective

update: if i didn't mention yet:

exporting a model with 3 LODs and 4 breakable submodels which require each a physics model + 3 LODs is a fucking pain in the ass!
