Steppenwolf: yeah i haven't been clear. ive done both survivalling and camping, but this year ill be camping. i dont want to expose my girlfriend to hard circumstances

anyway, i might go survivalling with another good friend of mine, but were still negotiating about that.
i bought this knife for the survival but im sure it'll come in handy for the camping too (making tentscrews, bench, cover, etc).ill be sure to get some gloves! what would you recommend; tipless of full?
DUFFY: woah, those tents look fckng AWESOME! ill be sure to check them out!! looks like they're worth the extra investment

Hey guys,
i am making this thread because i'd like to share experiences about survivalling. im not a big ray mears myself, but i have done both camping and survivalling and ive grown to be quite fond of it.
im now planning to go on a campingtrip with one of my best friends and my girlfriend in june (france alps, near the border of belgium).do any of you have any experiences with tents? im now thinking of buying the nakina plus:

its pretty light and easy to set up. im not a total n00b myself, but there's still an awful lot to learn, so any suggestions are welcome!
i've already bought a new knife, the meru elch hunter. i found it VERY cheap and after a good look and feel, i must say this is one of the best deals ive done in a long time. the knife (including a leather holster) is only € 13:

the holster is of 'ok' quality, but the knife itself feels really really solid

furthermore, im looking into handy stuff to take with me. not the standard wear you put in your survivalcan, but some nifty tools/gadgets wich have proven useful to maybe one of you guys.

awesome! will dl soon!

just read a few pages, but it sure is an interesting read! i feel ive been stuffed with information allready. it also scores pretty high with hikers and such, wich convinced me to pay € 27,50 for it

this is what urbansurvivalsecrets.com has to say about it:
I did like the fact that the SAS Urban Survival Handbook does take into account everything from the tropics to the Alpine regions to the polar regions. Surviving emergencies, disasters, fording rivers and the fact that all fresh water fish are edible helps out!
Overall, this is a good book to purchase for your bag/backpack. Rating - 9 out of 10 stars for addressing so many areas!

I don't know if it's just me but I don't think it looks dated at all. Keep in mind that this is a multiplayer game first of all.. and not just multiplayer but co-op. so everything is quite low res. It's not using a lot of normal mapping that's for sure but I personally think it looks much better than most games that have more advanced features like that. The environments look awesome and nicely balanced, awesome lighting as usual from valve and everything looks uniform and polished.I love it. and the game is fucking fun

I couldn't agree more on this.

only 1 day to go guys!

-
were still in 2008 so im bumping

-
thats all cool, but people making you have 30 hp because they cant aim/are epileptic/whatever is kind of frustrating..
-
yeah.. but with a good team of (smart) people, its possible.
biggest frustration with the game till now:
- teamkilling: people who tk for pleasure (ive had someone join, kill us all, and then left) or revenge
- recklesness: people who are just being reckless, ie: keep standing in doorways while zombies aproach or the panic-types that shoot everything that moves (including teammates) everytime theres one.fucking.zombie
- people who refuse to enter the saferoom (few minutes: fine, 15 minutes: lame)
apart from these userside bugs, the game rox0rz!

interesting twist. i used to live in deventer for a while and near my dorm was a momunment for a german private. near the end of the war the nazi's started to execute their prisoners (resistance people) whereas this man refused to cooperate. he was shot by his own bataljon (friends, i guess). imho an inspiring act of true heroism.. really, really impressed me. in the end we are all humans.
-
nothing wrong with it really, execpt that the talent of the people working on the mod could have a far better purpose imho.
but that's just my opinion, not theirs, obviously.
