    yeah, I usually only plug in the power and the reset (RST) plug, it's fairly easy, even without a manual but I nonetheless advise you to read one before doing anything. plugging the wrong plug might cause the motherboard to brake (happened to me once). just pay good attention on where EXACTLY the plugs belong (horizontally, vertically, 1st row or 2nd row or both). good luck!!

    Man, and I thought the alpha squads were getting hard. I haven't been able to fight one for like three hours, and yet with me running away they're still upgrading anyway. Now there are two separate alpha squads moving in tandem to squeeze on me. These guys are universally "Master" level stalkers, with high end gear and armor and laser accurate cross-country grenade throwing abilities, and roll around the zone by the dozen. I think, much like the SGM anomaly fields, the alpha squads might just cross a line between "challenge" and "I Wanna Be The Guy".

    Crysis: great game! although somewhat heavy on performance at moments and little character emersion. it's a blast to play nonetheless.

    Mafia 2: awesome. but I'm at 4%, so not much to add yet.

    last year was all about COD 4 MP. highest rank and all achievements. one of the games I had the most fun with, although some multiplayer issues are seriously fucked up (like the spawning system, clipping in some levels and overcrowded servers).

    that's a really nice buy! I myself use a lens adapter which allows me to screw on old m42 lenses. they're pretty cheap (depends what lens you want) and they're really good albeit you'd have to do without autofocus and have to manually adjust the aperture. anyway, you just bought a load of fun =)

    Take a heap of child-like wonder

    That opens up our eyes

    To the unexpected gifts in life—

    Each day a sweet surprise.

    Mix in fond appreciation

    For the people whom we know;

    Like festive Christmas candles,

    Each one has a special glow.

    Add some giggles and some laughter,

    A dash of Christmas food,

    (Amazing how a piece of pie

    Improves our attitude!)

    Stir it all with human kindness;

    Wrap it up in love and peace,

    Decorate with optimism, and

    Our joy will never cease.

    If we use this healthy recipe,

    We know we will remember

    To be in the Christmas spirit,

    Even when it's not December.

    Well if the rest of the digital distribution industry would make their product as good as Steam, this wouldn't be an issue. I've used Steam, Impulse, Direct2Drive, and EA's download manager. Surprisingly, the last one was the most convenient one, and it's still pretty horrible compared to Steam.

    Ever try Gamersgate or the Blizzard store, or GOG? They work the same way, you download a small installer .exe that downloads and installs the game. Gog's and GG's are better, since they're not a torrent client so they tie up less resources. I've used Steam, Impulse, GFWL, Gamersgate, GOG, and Blizzard store. Good Old Games and Gamersgate are by far the best solution. Impulse and GFWL are terrible. No options, stupid clumsy client, they beg to be directly compared to Steam and both come up sorely lacking.

    Also I got Gears of War 1 and The Witcher today. Gears of War 1 is absolutely atrociously terrible, and it killed my enthusiasm for games a bit, so I haven't touched The Witcher. Seriously, how could anyone think enemies that take 2+ clips of ammo each to die is fun? Shit's horrid. And you have 1/10th their health so good luck running up for chainsaw kills. And you can't that I could tell cook the grenades, and the enemies would all run away from them as they landed, dodging them most of the time. And you lose all ability to steer when you sprint. Playing as Marcus Fenix couldn't feel less fun to play if he had no legs and I had to control crawling around on the ground QWOP style.

    i'll try Gog also: you won't regret playing the witcher.

    true, but i foresee valve growing to be the number one online mp gaming supplier within a few years. if they are the standard for online mp, retail games wont be worth much anymore because the online mp will have less support outside of steam, wich means there will be less competition. little competition + free market means pretty much the consumer is screwed. wich is me...
