Didnt give Empires a try yet but Vietcong 2 was not impressive. The sounds are low qaulity and the animations are buggy. Ragdoll is very unrealistic, and the level design wasnt to great either.

Vietcong 1 sucked for that reason, I never belived in a Vietcong 2 for the same reason...

I don't belive in AOE3 for the reason that its being played in the era of the Independence War, but I might be wrong, downloaded the demo some time ago now, just can't play it cause I'm doing a compile

Strange to see anyone thinking its fullbright, fullbright doesn't look like that.

But I must admit, this image is not the best one, it was more of a texture test I'll show some better pics later soon.

@ Skjalg, that is not a monitor...

Gabe has quickly, since the HL2 release failure (the lying and all) moved up to be one of the most intresting persons in game biz to listen too, I really like when developers can make bad critics on thier own stuff as well as other things, he really lays it down on ps3...

Sorry, another portfolio site, I felt like doing one myself since everyone else seems to have one. I might not have done so many things, and I know I can't look for a job in the biz using only these, still, its fun keeping some track on what you've made worth showing...

They layout is very basic, not as fancy as some others

True. A good education, in economics, history, society, nature, those areas could really generate way better jobs then a regular mapping job could, this isnt the 90's any more, all good ideas are already made in the game communitys, now there's just regular jobs with normal pay.

Started this about hammer when VDC opend, this is the biggest chance to get valve empoyees to read it, and also a great way of adding problems and info.

Gah, Donald Sutherland or no Donald Sutherland, how can you live with the camera controls from hell?

How the hell can people live forced to use either the arrow keys on the KB or the scrollbars to scroll the map, EVERY OTHER editor uses the hold down RMB to scroll, which is MUCH FASTER and MUCH BETTER.

Or you could just use the mousewheel. Which is fine.

No you can't, tell me how I can scroll sideways using a normal mousewheel... also, its annoying needing to roll the wheel if you are suppoed to scroll long distances.

You miss my point. With the mousewheel, you simply zoom out rapidly and then zoom back in where the mouse pointer is located. It's just as quick for me as scrolling.

Not as good, its as with the 3d view and radiant, I can say its as fast just moving your hand to the arrow and the kb and moving there, as it is using the wasd config...

In reality, wsad is much better and faster, so is using the RMB to scroll the 2d map. Espec since the RMB dosen't do anything for most times.
