Visually its damn nice. Though it does appear that the sounds off, which is probably why it looks odd, she looked too far ahead of the actual speach.

Very cool though, made me tense, I thought something was going to jump out or something.

    Thats pretty sweet

If the section on the left is the underside, you could have gotten away with halfing it/mirroring, or just making it smaller, as its not really going to be seen much (take a hell of an explosion to send it upside down) and its very plain compared to the rest. Perhaps the same could go for the underside of the main turret too.

The rest is really well packed from what I can see though. Really good job

A world war like WW2 would set the earth straight again, people would have to work together, and respect what you have. You don't need much to be happy, people are too material and think only of themselves.

WW2 saw people working together, getting on together and doing so with very little.

The only problem is that nowadays, World war would mean nukes and the destruction of the planet. Which would put a stop to it all. But its a shame as well, as humans have so much potential, but are stuck by "society" and "conformatisum"

Some "final" Level shots, theres only some minor additions to go in, a wheelbarrow in the vegatable patch, and some ash under the cauldron. However I've left those parts out the screens until they're added

All links open a 1280x1024 version, so allow for them to load

When I get enough cash, I'm going to get the latest VR headset with HD mini screens (I saw some on a program about LG). And a pair of surround sound headphones, and take myself and my PC to a shed and live there for a few years playing oblivion or something equally emmersive

But seriously, VR esq stuff can only be the next level of emersion, with some wacky controllers attached to your hands.

Wii is the way forward If Dragon Quest has sword fighting with the wiimote, Im SO there!

Good art work, Mapcore members seem scared of women/female models that look sexy, Must be some kind of attraction there, but the brains say "no, it has polys error error" lol

Good work on getting the dress to deform well with wider leg stances, thats always a pain to weigh right. Some good variations on her dresses as well.

I may have to write a tutorial on facial animation on HL2 models, the HL2world and valve wikis leave too much to be worked out.

    Good stuff

I'm on a BA(Hons) in Computer and Video Games. In my 3rd and final year, and there is a big mix of people coming out of it. Some are slackers and found it so hard to get the work set done that they no longer want to get into the industry, which to me is good, as if they did get in they'd get crushed even more by the work load etc.

Then there are people like myself who have always wanted to get into games since the first picked up an editor from a game. I've worked on several mods, some not too successful some quite.

However I don't know if its just me, but the UK seems a harder place to get a job than the USA. There are less companies, and they all want incredable work. Fair enough, but they all want "gritty realisum" and being a dumbass I chose a "cartoony fantasy" style for my final year project. At the time of choosing this wasn't the case, and now I feel I can't secure myself a job.

Still working on my portfolio like a nutter, I want to do level design, but for my project brief I've had to cover more areas, Character Design, Animation, Textures and a little Level Design. After Graduation I'll be needing to spend a whole lot of time making gritty levels.

If I can get an interview I can show them that I am hard working, motivated, passionate, but with a portfolio that doesn't specify in one area, and with one style I've yet to get one of those

Wee is english slang/child talk for urine.

Wii is pronouced the same, So its not that great a name sound wise.

Its a cool logo though, and I understand why they went for it. But revolution was slightly better imo, but its still cool.

I'm just not looking forward to the chavs about making inuendos like "My 360 takes a dump on your Wii" or something equally as lame.

None the less, Its still the console that I actually WANT to buy this generation round.

Hey all, if needed this thread can be moved to WIP, but here are some updated screens of the level so far:

[Blocked Image: http://www.gazoid.com/wip_level/thumbs/ab1.jpg] [Blocked Image: http://www.gazoid.com/wip_level/thumbs/ab2.jpg] [Blocked Image: http://www.gazoid.com/wip_level/thumbs/ab3.jpg] [Blocked Image: http://www.gazoid.com/wip_level/thumbs/ab4.jpg]

Its hard trying to get everything to match, like the cranes are a bit too gritty compared to the rest of the level. Need to make them look more cartoony, but still...old and worn....arg!

The idea is you wake up in the middle of the round path on the grass circle. Your airship crashed and you need to salvage the parts of the ship back to the ship before the towns inventor takes you back to his house to tell you whats happened (Basic story line etc), and then gives you some weapons.

He then takes you outside to train on 2-3 bad guys that also crashed in the town that he tied up whilst they were unconcious. You fight them in the vegatable patch (they will be blind folded or something) to learn how to use your weapons.

Once trained the inventor will give you a key to open the towns (yet to make) gate to proceed to the next level.

Thats all thats planned so far for this level, but it would be a hub level for players to return to later in the game to recieve upgrades to weapons and to deliver other parts of the airship that fell to other areas.

Oh, just to mention, the levels set on a plateau. I've yet to complete the skybox though, that will show how the level fits with the rest of the world

Anyway, comments welcome. I need as much help as I can squeeze from you guys :D The rabbit slaughering helped loads

Plus I pushed them back a fair bit too, so they don't bulge so much

I'll probably be leaving her like this, I've alot of other work to do, and re applying the skin modifier, etc takes a fair bit of time. If I can get the rest of the project up to scratch and to a standard of functionality that I'm happy with then I will give her some shorts, possibly lengthen the top as well.

Anyway I think her face is a lot more appealing, and doesn't make her clothes as scary, as she is more femanine.

I also took a number of polys out on the thighs and a few else where.

I hope you guys like her better
