    It is another planet.....

Uhh... no it's not, all evidence thus far points to it being Stroggos, feel free to show me otherwise..

and shut it RD, go play Shock 2

Looks far too clean to be a city and the yellow lighting needs to go.. like now! The textures also look a little too low res for source (I'm guessing it's source due to the bumped floor in pic 2..).

Good start though, keep at it

Ok my comments seeing as I haven't done so yet:

    Good:

    Teamwork:

I like the fact that this time you're working with others this time and you know who you are (pop quiz; In Q2 your name is Bitterman but it's not very obvious).

    Vehicles:

Being able to pilot any kind of vehicle on Stroggos is a welcome addition and something that had to be done.

    The construction plant:

Very very cool, atmospheric and genuinely cringeworthy in places, could do with a fit more 'pain' but other than that, awesome.

    Bad:

    The sky:

If that sky remains when the final product is shipped I shall cry, in Quake 2 the sky was dark orange with patches of red and yellow, in order to make the player believe that this is still the same Stroggos they were running along in 1997, then it has to look like it, the sky as it is currently just makes it look like another planet..

    Overuse of colour:

I'm seeing screenshots of Strogg with red metal suits and I'm not happy about it. Take a look at the old Strogg designs and you'll see that the metal parts are very plain and usually caked in blood, to me this shows the Strogg as being barren and cold, as if there's nothing really in there except malice and the desire to wipeout mankind. The strogg player model looks like a ninja, the orange does not look good imo..

I couldn't see in evidence of it in the video, but is there a damage system that expands on the original pain skins of Q2?

I'm using IE all the time, but for some reason, it is called Explorer and not IE

    Internet Explorer dipshit..

It's as if you force yourselves to reply or something. Jeez I thought you'd be happy you brought another on board the Firefox crew.. or something to that effect.

I'm now using it, seems pretty good, not much difference in appearance compared to IE so I don't feel like I'm using something completely different. Me likes..

How big are the 2D skies? If they're standard 256x256, then look at these:

You can make the terrain and buildings in HL2 and people would hardly even notice the background stuff..

    - when he was on the cart thing getting chopped up by the strogg, he pretty much kept the same animtation while getting chopped. the one where he was struggling to get out. i think it would be a nice effect if like when he get stabbed he would start shaking or something, also maybe make the screen blur a little.

Agreed, I think he has to make more of a noise when he gets 'impaled' in the stomach too, that bit is absolutely horrid and made me cringe.. If you listen to the marine before him, he makes a right scream but the player just seems to wince a bit, I mean cmon, would you wince if you'd just been left with a huge gaping wound in your abdomen? I don't think so...

On and the sky needs to be dark orange, if this doesn't happen I will produce a new skybox to replace the 'odd' one soon after release

Please change that Godawful default HL1 city background. There are so many better ones out there.

    Agreed.

Looking decent but it really needs more variation in colour and maybe a bit more detail, but you're getting there.. keep at it!
