Because Steam is fucking balls, throws up errors all the time, I can't even get offline mode running and sometimes I can't even play the game because Steam servers are down. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I shouldn't need to have to piss about with some external program just to play a fucking game, every other game I have is just straight install, HL2 takes bloody ages to setup right and then you've got to hope Steam doesn't decide to play up or else you'll be doing nothing. If I can find a patch that disables Steam I'll gladly play HL2 and it's mods, otherwise I can't be arsed at the moment.

Seriously, hardly anyone else has these complaints. Wouldn't it be smarter to try and fix things and keep rants to yourself rather than posting abuse on a forum.

There are loads of people who feel the same way as I do, I'd like to think it IS my machine but I dont think so. I'm having the machine upgraded at the moment anyway so I might give it another bash when I've got that back. As for trying to fix things, already went down that road to no avail...

    Where's the abuse btw?

You couldn't make it up. What a fucking shit parent.

Smoking pot has become increasingly acceptable. Skinning up a joint to accompany an afternoon cuppa and a Hob Nob has become no knee-quaking big deal. Right now, thousands of young people - and some adults - are locked away in their bedrooms with a bag of skunk in one hand, and a remote control in the other - hypnotised by crap TV and hooked to the escapist antics of Playstation games. For some parents with a concern for their child's future, a dabbling in cocaine is a far more digestible alternative. "I'd rather my son take a more proactive, less habitual drug like cocaine, than lock himself away and play video games" says Roxanne Richardson, 35, who has a young son, and is expecting another. "It's so lazy. At least with pills and coke you're out and about doing something."

Auto Update for the win. Seriously, there isn't a good reason not to have it on. Windows doesn't have any minor bugs anymore. Every update seems to fix some vulnerability that can toast your machine.

Auto-update is actually enabled on here it just does it automatically at a set time which is why I never knew it was on, so I ended up installing the updates twice.. oops. Oh well, no harm done. Dont have Auto-update enabled on my own computer though 'cause I never use the Internet on there.

i thought it was an extremely enjoyable single player, eventhough the russian campaign got boring. The battle for hill 400 = fucking awesomealso check out my stack of germans:

Haha, that mission was also bloody hard, but not as tough as defending the Hill 400 bunker

I've played the solo game like i was in a ghost train, just boring. And where is my fucking HUD btw >

    Eh?

I finished it last night, damn good upto the last minute although the last mission is pretty easy and a major disappointment after all the challenges you faced (especially the Hill 400 mission before it, that was insane!). Overall brilliant game, stands neck and neck with it's predecessor as being one of the best WWII games ever

There is a really bloody nasty security hole in Windows at the moment, that uses malformed WMF files to execute arbitrary code on your system. The bad thing about this is that simply viewing an effected image will cause this security hole to execute. Even us using Firefox aren't 100% safe; the image won't fire up straight away like on IE, but if you later happen to browse your cache and hit that file... yeah, not safe.

I was worried the sequel wouldn't live up to my high expectations because the original was just so damn good, but I can safely say I needn't of worried, it's absolutely fantastic. The Russian missions are a great opener (shooting teddybears and throwing potatoes into a bathtub ), the true eye-openers to the sheer awesomeness of this game came when you took on the roll of one of the Desert rats in Africa, it's so satisfying to be able to take on litterally armies of german soldiers and call air-strikes on enemy tanks from the rooftop of a town building (if you've played MOH:AA, it plays in a similar vain but 10x more awesome).

The American raid on Point De Hoc is great, like Omaha beach but with less carnage and more open terrain and cows Sniping mortar squads from the top of a tower has never been so fun! I don't know what graphics settings I'm running at but textures are set to automatic and the game pretty much looks the same as the original game when it was on max settings (no bad thing). Runs smooth as butter, I'm amazed it runs so well with all the stuff going on and the large open landscapes.

The tank driving missions are my favourite so far, I'm just stepping into Caen with the Brits. So far, I'd rate this over the original anyday

Looks ok, the damage reminds me very much of SOF2's 'broken' skins, perhaps a little overkill with the darkness like ferret said...

I still dont know who Paxton or Fettel or Sfod-d or armachan is

Paxton Fettel is the guy who takes over AMC with the clone soldiers, he's seen eating that security guard at the beginning and at various points in the game (ie when you're smacked in the face with a wooden plank). Sfod-d I believe is the name of the other friendly force you work with (can't remember) and armachan is the company building you end up at a quarter of the way into the game.

Jeez RD, keep up it's hardly an RPG
