Barely anyone plays the custom dod:s maps. Then again there is a huge fan base waiting on BMS to come out. Im just saying the mod would come out that much faster if mappers where not working on stuff such as this. They should be devoted to the project.

Oh yeah, they should all be locked in their rooms working on BM:S 24/7, forget earning money for a living or going out with friends or any of that trivial stuff in life, they should be dedicating themselves 100% to BM:S and any other projects that they wish to pursue as well is a no no...

Very interesting stuff, especially about the lack of design and repetition, I notice that sort of thing all the time.

Games are about fulfilling peoples fantasies. Nobody wants to play as a normal person and be conformist and nice to everyone.

^^ This. It's the reason why I don't understand half of the sports games, why sit down in front of a PC/console simulating something you could actually do for real? Getting out and about is better for you than staying indoors on your arse for ages.

Having said that I still think the idea of a huge interactive city where you can travel around and talk to people is a cool idea.. I suppose you could have the option to kill them as well.. if you liked

    Peris: Fantastic, I love it

Ooghijmiqtxxa: Nice looking chest you got there, nice work on the metal.

bitmap: Paintball bag looks awesome but the rocks are far too smooth and manmade looking to be rocks, nice texture though!

I thought this was going to be about budget games, not religious pish

In terms of a GTA game where you don't kill people, that would be a cool idea, walking around the city talking to people and using the facilities and stuff, kinda like Second Life except not shit.

Aliens Vs Predator was abysmal, I hope the new one is better since they seem to be releasing this with an R/18 rating as oppose to NC13/12a this of course means more gore which is a must in any Aliens/Predator film. They need to really sort out the storyline too and if there's any instant chestbursting scenes taking place again I will stab the director in the face with a rusty screwdriver [/rant]

Be interested to see how this new game looks, especially being on the PSP, I expect there will be Ps3 and Xbox 360 versions made as well.

You know that there IS an egyptian tomb in TR1 / TR:A too, right D3ads? That's exactly where I got in TR:A before I heard there is a 360 version coming out, and so put it down to wait for that

Yeah I haven't got there yet, just into Greece now. The thing about TLR is that it's set entirely in Egypt and is pretty damn lengthy from what I remember.

Phew, The Lost Valley was fucking gigantic in comparison to the other levels, took me hours to finish it, especially with that stupidly hard T-Rex battle, crappy controls + bad collision detection = Lara dying a lot. Finally managed to get the twat to ram his head into one of the spike traps. Those interactive cut-scenes are amazingly gay...

I've unlocked the old Lara model from the original game, I don't remember her looking that bad

Quake 4 picked up where Doom 3 failed..

Played the first three levels of TR:A, it's ok but some of the jumps can get rediculously hard for a n00b like me (well I played the original game when it came out back in 1996 and the second one.. that's about it though and not for any great length). I wonder if they'll remake all the Tomb Raider's? I'd die if they redid The Last Revelation.. ancient Egypt FTW!

That looks amazing, total photo-realism! How come the diffuse and normal don't clash? The diffuse seems to have a lot of detail painted on.

Btw Teddy, will you be allowed to show us the stuff you worked on now that The Darkness has been released?

    NP: Tomb Raider - Anniversary

Spent most of yesterday pissing about in Lara's Manor, finished it but I still can't get that final artifact where you have to jump backwards onto the slopes with the grapple.. far far too hard
