BF has had destruction since BC1. It's nothing new to the franchise and it was arguably scaled back in BF3 compared to the BC games.

And COD's dynamic shit looks like little traps with physics objects. Ooh fuckin rah

Even combining these two very different material types into one texture might be a strange jump off point. In practise you'd probably want to separate these two into different objects, tiling brick wall texture for BSP with a foliage mesh over top it or at least a blend shader with two different materials. Combining varied texture types into one material can sometimes be a bitch with physics materials for sound/hit effect reactions etc.

Maybe pick a simpler starting point. Like, just make the tiling brick wall texture or something.

I'm not quite sure how much I want to play the first 30 minutes of every modern FPS as a full length game.

    Clear History

Larry David's new movie. A few funny scenes, but not a very good film, shot like a TV show and doesn't really amount to much in the end. Episodes of Curb end up having a better pay off because of the 30 min time frame and focus where this just feels elongated because it's a feature so it needs to be more than 75 minutes. Waste of a pretty good cast too. Just feels like a bunch of loosely connected sketches cut together with a very thin plot.

I had the same feeling watching In The Loop, just felt like a 2 hour episode of television, not a movie. But that was at least coherent and consistently funny.

Picked up Fire Emblem (what have I done) and Luigis Mansion on the 3ds

LM looks pretty great. Actual lighting and super clean art.

I think I just hit Ep3. It's fast and fun but a little buggy. Also getting snagged on walls during the jump pad sections whyyyyyyy.

Getting back into Dota2 and SF4

My Makoto is still not as good as my Chun but it's getting there. Gonna branch into a 3rd character soon. Maybe one of the shotos.

As for Dota2. People are insulting my mother less in the last few days so I think I'm getting better.

I think I'm finally starting to get matched with people who play just a bit more serious than I do. Who knew auto attacking a creep twice was grounds for me killing myself.

Dunno what you guys are talking about. Looks super awesome imo. Could be the best shit since SS 1 & 2. I'm HYPED AS FUCK.

I don't see a lot relating to those games. Looks closer to something like Dear Esther or Amnesia/Black Plague (without puzzles)? Like a more atmospheric walk around sort of thing. Where the mechanics at?

    Sorry, I don't really follow

By default League locks the camera onto your character and you can't scroll around. Ideally you want to unlock it and position it so you can see more of the 'danger area'. I know people who play with it locked and complain when they're top-side because they can't see people below them.

Oh I misunderstood. That's kinda nuts. I remember playing league with the camera detached like War3 back whenever that was (before dota2). I always heard this complaint from new comers to the "genre" I just never realized it was something that was actually supported or has actually become commonplace.

To be honest, even with Leagues shorter skill ranges it’s better to have the camera unlocked and biased towards where the action is. Getting used to controlling your character in the side of the screen is a pain, though. I've been forcing myself to play characters like Enchantress so learn the jungle and micromanagement. Fortunately, I have no subjected people I don’t know to this yet.

I've only played a handful of games of League but is it uncommon practice to play the mini map or is there just no advantage to it?
