Fallout 3 ain't no original IP. And it did well, supposedly.

People don't have a problem buying TWO WHOLE VIDEOGAMES within the same time span of each other, especially when both are AAA "must have" products.
No, not 2 games, but consider the release list of this past fall:
Gears of War 2
Call of Duty: World at War
Fallout 3
Mirror's Edge
Dead Space
Left 4 Dead
Far Cry 2
Fable 2
Resistance 2
All released within about 2 or 3 months of each other. And those are just the bigger, more anticipated games by the general lot of gamers. Not even going into any 'demographic' nonsense, if you wanted to argue that, they're all after a very similar piece of the pie, shooters blah blah blah guns.
Also worth mentioning, all the original IP's on that list, save for Left 4 Dead, were said to have 'underperformed' by their publisher (Mirror's Edge, Dead space). Hmm, I wonder why? It certainly wasn't a quality issue, in my opinion...

A summer release, to me, means you don't even want to go head to head with the fall releases of the year...
wait, what? Looking at it from both a consumer and publisher perspective, I can't see how funneling all the big releases into the same 2 month time span helps anyone. Whenever a Halo or Call of Duty is set to come out, stay the fuck out of its way. It's nothing but smart to try and avoid those periods, IMO.

Yeah looking good. Looks clean and simple, I like.

This game needs more MAPS. I would totally play through another 20 times if there was just one more fresh campaign at the end of the road. Versus doesn't really do it for me, unfortunately.

I must be the only person around who far preferred RtCW MP to Enemy Territory. Get that XP shit out of my wolfenstein and bring back some Trench Toast. Motha-fucka.

Starting to dig this a little more. Was a little put off by the co-op AI at first, but it's sorta nice to relive RE4, if in a broken and disjointed way. The fuck is with the inventory system? Totally seems like they forgot about the merchant and opted for this lame ass menu based buy/upgrade system. Kinda takes you outta the game a bit too much and limits you unnecessarily throughout missions. I can't move shit on the fly, really? Just seems like an odd move for a game that didn't seem to want to stray too far from RE4's path...

To be honest I prefer playing the same guy because you get a feel for their play-style. And they're less likely to rage-quit and send you abuse.
Yeah, definitely. Had a great 20+ round go with a Guile a week or so back. He kicked my ass 75% of the time, but it was always a close match and by the 17th or 18th match we had worn out each other pretty well and started opting for random characters until we quit.

I think I'm still yet to see a Dhalsim or Chun-Li online.

Yeah, I'm playing alone and finding the AI partner out of place. I perfer the old inventory system as well.
RE4 is still king in my books.
