Got back into L4D Vs. after only playing it maybe twice back when it came out. I missed out on a pretty significant chunk of the game...
Also, Demigod, when it wants to not crash on me.

I'm gonna left stick aim the shit out of this game.
Quote from FuryoThat's complete bullshit, Alex Proyas' best work is Dark City hands down....
And even Dark City seemed more like a film academics wet dream than a purely great film. I've seen it a few times and can never get by the fact how empty in every way the movie feels.
Though, oddly enough Knowing looks interesting. Can't pass up big budget sci fi.
Quote from JohnCBut... you can hardly see anything to the left side. It's like playing with half of a screen.
If it's just for interiors, which seems to be the case, should be fine I think. But, yeah I definitely wouldn't want a tight perspective all the time in this game, that would just be shit.
But for aiming and in tight quarters, it's always better.
Quote from JohnCI don't like the offset camera. It's pointless, worse than the old camera and feels like a cheap ploy to attract the Gears/Resident Evil crowd. I guess third person shoulder camera's the norm now, can't wait for it in Max Payne 3...Sidenote: The first Halo didn't have regenerating health. That started in Halo 2, after they got the idea from Call of Duty.
I think the offset camera is fine. It's an improvement on the overhead camera in almost every way.
Also, Halo had a hybrid health system consisting of regenerating armor and HP after your armor is down. Halo 2 just simplified the system and removed health altogether. CoD 1 also didn't have regen health and Halo most certainly didn't get the idea from it. ![]()
I'm getting the sense that the marketing and concept for this movie are far better than what we'll end up seeing...
Lighthouse is a major bitch to fend off. I got up to 12 minutes in the airport atrium with a couple other people though, the hospital elevator area is pretty fun too, gets really chaotic but always lots of options to move around. Really fun mode, really want to throw together some cool survival map as soon as the SDK is out.
Makes you think you're creative but you're really not
I actually like how it doesn't got too far with the 'toon' style, but falls somewhere in between. Still has the same vibe the initial screenshots showed, just a bit different.
Quote from ThrikBanjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
For those who like the idea of building your own vehicles and such, this game is a dream come true. Fans of the original like me will get a particular joy from the countless throwbacks, including a level made out of the Nintendo 64 games' fuckin' levels, and constant remixing of the soundtrack. I have to take this in small chunks, but it's really fun.
Must reiterate for how under appreciated the game is. Probably one of the best looking games out right now as well. So good. So unique.
Looks pretty sweet.
Quote from JetsetlemmingThe last time I heard someone discuss platforms for Fallout 3, they said they got a new PC and switched from 360 to PC for it, and it was like night and day. He said he missed having a M&KB so much with it.
I remember I played Morrowind first on the Xbox and found it kinda stiff and annoying, though I couldn't really place what the problem was, and then when I got it on PC I loved it. Everything was so much easier and simpler to use when you have a mouse to work menu screens!
Yeah, Input is generally always faster on a PC. But the Pip-Boy itself was clearly made with console input in mind and I'm not sure how much more fluid it would be with a M&KB.
And is Oblivion that much better without mods? I remember the vanilla inventory being balls.
Recently finished Resident Evil 5, Ninja Blade and Fallout 3. Still playing Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2 MP. Will probably go through RE5 and Fallout 3 again sometime soon. Just started another round of Dead Space on impossible.
Fallout 3 really surprised me. I went in expecting to really dislike it, but I think it does show that a PC style RPG can be done properly on a console without feeling gimped. The Pip-boy is probably one of the coolest interfaces I've seen. The perks, the leveling, the environment, all really great too.
The one major nagging aspect of it though is the dialogue and NPC's. Didn't feel like many characters really fit the world. I think there was an opportunity there to really craft some unique characters; It's hard imagining a 1950's post-apocalyptic world set in 2077 inhabited by individuals with speech patterns not too different from our own. There's a lot of space to fill in the game, I can understand that, but it's an RPG.
It's something I always felt Deus Ex really nailed, grounding their characters through dialogue and giving them a real sense of time and place.

Incredible game. Emphasis on game. Everything else can take a fuckin' hike.
I was more suprised by the fact I was getting a thrashing from a Gen at all. Not a character I run into very often. And not one where I get a back to back super+ultra landed on me. ![]()
