Kingdom of Heaven 2 would probably be a more accurate jab.
I think it looks pretty good. Seem's like one of his lighter flicks, but I'll take what I can get.

Quote from 2d-chrisWhy would anyone buy level design books anyway
Basics can and should be learned yourself, the advanced stuff is project/tool dependant
Design is all about practically learning frome experiences, not reading. I'm not suggesting books are useless, for some specific skills it's very useful but don't assume reading your way to being a good designer is the best path.
Chris has it right. Go get yourself some art or architecture books. Photo books kick so much ass. Fuck words.
The Spike VGA's, or how to throw your Saturday to waste.

to make a jurrasic park game, IP untapped if you ask me
(I'm not talking about that meh arcade game either
You mean the gun con one? That shit was awesome.
The platformers on NES/SNES weren't bad either. Even that one that went all first person Wolfenstein on you when entering interior areas wasn't bad.
Mounting ledges in First Person is the next evolution of the genre. Same thing when ducking and jumping were introduced. Any FPS without it in some form is just going to seem archaic sooner or later. Can hardly be seen as a rip off, game design is iterative, news at 11.
Looks awesome. Plus, Container City. Sold.

Pretty much.
If you play a PMC and just walk around fucking with the populace, hauling people into the streets, stopping cars for no reason, operating outside of any sort of moral or ethical realm, then it might...it might just have a chance.
Quote from MinotauroTime for a another goldsrc contest I suppose??
Oh damn, would be a shame not to.

Why do I still have 4 other games on the go during a relatively quiet Fall season for games, and now I add this thing to that list, fuck.
Quote from UgoffTrue... but I like to have fun when I play games...so I don't mind paying for something that is worth it.
IE L4D2 is worth the 34 dollars....
I've been paying for an XBL sub since day 1 and own L4D2, I wasn't arguing anything like that, just the idea that paying for Steam would make any sense at all. Which it doesn't. And if XBL is any indicator, paying for something doesn't keep any unwanted dip shits out.
I'm digging realism mode a lot. Not only does the hud being removed force you to be a little more practical with your team but the weapons seem a whole lot more balanced now that headshots actually count. Shotguns work as crowd control, assault rifles as precision hits. In regular, you kinda just end up spraying no matter the weapon with pretty much the same results.
Basically did a 180 on my initial feelings after doing some realism.
Also, the SCAR is totally the new AK in games. I blame Advance Warfighter.
I just don't care, mostly.
Also, why did the industry get thrown into a shit fit when one old guy said some stupid shit like it mattered? God forbid your dad doesn't take them videogames seriously. Goddamn.
Plus, a lot of this discussion tends to circle around a bunch of games like flOw, which is pretty much gamings equivalent of a bag floating in the wind.
Must resist urge to troll.
Picked this up a week back, was a nice change of pace with it being so offensive and having a lot of basic movement options available to you but it still didn't pull me away from SFIV. I plan to get back to it one of these days, though I don't think time is going to help the online community stick around...
