Play Nintendo games that have no voice acting or tutorials or stories and the same concepts and characters for the last 25 years and are still better than pretty much everything being made today.

Even some 9.0 wankfest like Arkham City hasn't got shit on a Mario platformer on a shitty 3D handheld system. I put Batman down after an hour but somehow managed to beat Mario twice.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing anymore. There's a difference between being clear with language and using data as a crutch.

That almost pissed me off as much as people saying that something is wrong because it doesn't feel right, but they cant really tell why or what and that they will know its when they see it.http://www.google.no/webhp?sourceid=chr ... 99&bih=795

I don't like that stuff either. Not being able to explain yourself is pretty bad too.

I'm sorry but thats the dumbest piece of lines I've read today. [sarcasm]Yeah I totally agree that understanding the subject at hand fully totally excludes being able to be creative about it[/sarcasm]

I thought it was kinda funny.

But I dislike quantifying things just because you can. It's boring.

Charts and graphs are for the creatively bankrupt. They turn it into a science cause they havnt a fucking clue. See: Gamasutra.

Maybe they can do something useful and chart me a graph showing when and at what point their creativity finally evaporated.

Tight urban level with just land vehicles. One of the few BF2 had. It's the closest map to what you see in Bad Company 2's level design but PC gamers won't admit to such a thing so they pretend Karkhand is some kind of mystical gift handed down by the God's. Inexplicably great. No way it could be because it's basically a 'Rush' map before the mode ever existed.

I'm pretty sure if I were to participate in such a thread I would end up posting a gigantic rant about how Resident Evil 4 was an OK game, not the greatest gift to mankind to ever be created, and you can stop aping its elements already. Especially since most of the elements aped from it were chosen specifically to BE bad, like the camera angle. They intentionally restrict your view angle and have Leon take up too much of the screen to make the game scarier. If you're game's not supposed to be scary and claustrophobic on purpose, guess fucking what, DON'T USE THAT CAMERA.

All any game took from RE4's camera was the offset. The games I'm assuming you're referring to don't actually push the camera that far in to have the character take up that much space. Offset just feels better. Sorry, Max.

And RE4 ain't scary, isn't even trying to be.

The QTEs as gameplay elements might look incredible dumb but I still like them for what they did: They made you think you actually play as this guy which helps you attach to him much more. Imagine this being a static cutscene: You get back from the kitchen after the loading screen just finished, missed the first 5 seconds, you sit down, watch your screen, people you don't know or don't have any connection to get beaten up. It wouldn't work the same way.Making you think you actually contributed to that scene ("OMG, if i had just taken the iPad instead of the TV remote I might have changed something") and leaves you with the same feeling of help-less-nes the guy is in ("How could I have done any different - could I have done anything about it"). The limited control here makes perfect sense. Don't hate on QTEs because they are often used wrong and just because it's the "New thing". It's not like they freeze-framed until you pressed "F" to look at the door or something as stupid as that.

Shit's boring and not fun. It's just designers getting in their own way. It's not about you and your shitty 'authorship', no one cares.

Cops don't shoot using their legs. Shooting a cop in the leg doesn't really stop them from shooting the guy with the bomb, it probably actually makes it more likely because it probably doesn't help identifying that hey that guy's got a dead man switch, don't shoot him, when you're in extreme pain.

Just the line of thinking there behind that scene gets more ridiculous and insane the more I ponder on it. "Those mongoloid inbred downs syndromes in uniform down there surely can't recognize that one of the people on the bridge isn't a terrorist and they shouldn't be shot, even though there's a bunch of innocent people on the bridge running away from the terrorists that they've so far managed not to shoot, also fuck I'm not going to translate this information to fucking APE GRUNTS, who do you think I am, some kind of responsible professionally trained counter-terrorism expert? I'm not going to interact with those FUCKIN RETARDS of the NYPD below us! Just murder them so they don't shoot the guy with some C4 that will somehow explode a 150m radius because it's magic C4!" *shoots cop in leg* *he goes down instantly and dies*

Of all the things to criticize in that trailer hahahaha

Post something about how this is barely a game.

Get told the franchise needs a reboot and that you can't appeal to the hardcore any longer.

Say it's not true to the franchise.

Argue it's just a prototype and that the game will feature more gameplay

Get bewildered by the fact you're arguing a game should be more gameplay than not.

Get reply saying it's the future and you can't get left behind, Uncharted, COD, stockholders, something, something.

    fuck it.

Biggest problem with Uncharted is it gets away with being as simple a cover shooter as they come but free of the derision usually brought along with that tag. Platforming is almost negligible, as it's just a shade less automated than Enslaved.

    Fun, tho.

Melee bandits are probably the most interesting AI in years for a shooter. Seamless movement and they actually work.

Meaningful how, sales? Engine licensing? Who gives a shit. RAGE is probably the best shooter single player so far this year, how is that not fucking relevance?

Also lol they still made one of the best looking games since Doom 3.

I can't help but think of the people for whom rage's release was the final straw for them for PC gaming, because they had an AMD card. With the trip reports I saw of some people, especially with quite a few people saying the game would just crash on launch for them, they probably aren't sticking around for a patch or a driver update. It's not even a week since the game's release. If it had been delayed on PC that one week, so that the AMD shit could get worked out before it was exposed to the world, manchildren and teenagers would've grumbled a bit, but a lot more positive first impressions would've been had, and there'd been a lot less shit on id.

I experienced every problem that was reported basically. The crash on launch, which was fixed by the 11.9's, the slow texture streaming and triangle warping that was fixed with the patch, and the random crashing on level loads.

Anyone that's been PC gaming for any significant amount of time isn't going to find RAGE to be the LAST STRAW. None of this is any different than the last 15 years of PC gaming that I've done. The only difference is games are multiplatform, so now there's a source to direct all the frustration towards.

Shit was solved in less than a week. This upset won't be remembered by anyone just like all the other uneven launches of other games that are never remembered.
