I already told you I'm completely out of ideas.

When in doubt, make a level that justifies putting crates everywhere

fucking bots get out of the way

Only area I've really detailed up so far but it's pretty much the main area give or take. Now to finish it up, which won't ever happen

but Treyarch's MP level designers are pretty damn good IMO.

Yep. The only reason I bought it this time. Not sure they're necessarily as memorable as IW's (RIP) MW1 and 2 maps but they're solid as hell. Not sure I've played them all yet but it looks to be about inline. Big circular level made of crates stands out so far. Pretty much always a guarantee a fucking level made of crates will work well.

When you finish the game though you can't help but wonder if actual mechanics would have elevated the whole thing. I'm betting they would.

What impact would actual things to do really have on what makes the game special? I don't think the pacing or linearity really have anything to do with it. The random encounters, the visuals and the ambiance are what's important so shit make a real game out of it, it might be something I play for more than one sitting. Damn I'm getting excited thinking about it.

Didn't avp1 have like a horde mode where aliens just spawn forever and you just had to last for as long as you could. I'm pretty sure I recall doing this at 350ms via mplayer.

I'm gonna be the communist and ask why everyone feels they need to be paid for every little thing they can possibly do with their time.

I mean, I still like video games when they are video games. It’s just that I love them when they are not.

This blew my little mind way more than anything else at the time. Physics based racing when I didn't even know what physics were. The stunt track was bad ass. Still have the old cart. So good.

yeah now that you mention it I've definitely played wayyyy more cs than dota2, if you file it and dod as valve games.

But if I combined my war3 dota hours with dota2 they would start to stack up pretty considerably.

The engineers are so good that it makes up for the illogical shit, really. The deleted scenes on the bluray are actually pretty good and I can't think of one reason why they weren't just inserted into the final film other than trying to keep a 120min running time intact. Especially the engineer at the end speaking and the extended chase sequence with Shaw on the lifeboat. The engineer getting a glimpse of our culture on Vickers screen, it's kind of amazing they cut that. Vickers and Stringer Bell also have a half way interesting conversation in her room too instead of just an out of nowhere lets get laid exchange that amounts to zero.

Not sure where that articles coming from with the engineer design. It's more or less perfect. Unsettling and ancient looking. I don't know how that could have been handled more appropriately. And the movie opens with that shit which is pretty ballsy and doesn't dick you around until the end to see them up close.

But I guess any movie following the first 5 minutes of Prometheus' opening is going to probably have some trouble living up to that along the way.

This generation gave us red faction guerilla and vanquish so it gets a pass.

To conclude, the ps3 has no games.
