  • Funniest movie ever in your opinion

    strangelove > *.

Although strangelove is very funny, it may just have too much good juicy content and meaning to truly be a comedy. But I suppose it fufills the major qualification... being funny.

blazing saddles is classic.. spaceballs.. young frankenstien... Mel Brooks in general.

of course super troopers for your inner stoner.

big lebowski is probably my favorite overall. That movie is fucking amazing. The fact that it is based on a true story really blows my mind.

Fast and the furious, both of them. I couldn't stop laughing. It really had me wondering what the hell was going to happen next. It is so bad its a parody of itself.

    Monty Python anyone?

Princess Bride is waaay up there for me. That movie is great.

sim-anything pretty much. Although sim-ant would make a kick ass movie.

Did dinopark tycoon come before Jurassic Park?

:edit: they both came out in 1993 :

Half life would make a kickass movie, although it'd be tough to do, because I would feel weird about having Gordon talk. Only way to follow Gordon's story and not have him talk would to film it in first person.. And a movie from first person would be... wierd. might as well just play the game.

This thread would be much more interesting if we debated what games would make kickass movies. Almost every game would suck as a movie. CS, 2 hours of 8 clones of 2 guys running around in a small, sealed area killing each other. Fun.

I'm really not sure what games I think could be made into a movie... not a whole lot of few games have plots involved enough to create a unique movie.

HL1:OpFor would make a kickass movie though.

    hmmm.

The blame might be on the parents and classmates for lack of support/teasing/etc, but there is no way anyone is going to 'fix' any of that. There will always be teasing in school, there will always be shitty parents. There will always be psychopath kids who can't handle this stuff.

As hard as it is for me to say, outlawing firearms is the only logical way to reduce the damages of said psychopaths.

But we've forgotten something important - There is a weapon far more dangerous than a gun that is also far easier to get. Remember, you have to be 21 to buy a gun, highschoolers aren't 21. Granted their parents might have one, but not everyone's parents have a gun, nevermind the freakin arsenals that many of these highschool rampagers go in with.

Bombs. There is no way to outlaw bombs, since they can be very easily constructed out of some basic household materials. Put a few pipe bombs in a classroom full of kids... The damages would be far worse than a gun. A pistol only holds at most 20 shots. A pipe bomb can be covered in nails and filled with ball bearings. Far more horrific damage than a gun.

Remember the psychos at Columbine planted several bombs around the school.. thank God they didn't set them off.

If these kids are crazy enough to march into school with guns, I have no doubt that they'd spend a few hours the day before building a bomb or two if they couldn't get a gun.

The red dot is where I live. The blue circles... well those are golf courses. I didn't bother looking in other directions, but theres more. If only I golfed. A few of the other green blobs on there are other smaller golf courses or driving ranges.

  • I'm scared of razor blades

I've never had any really serious injury, not even a broken bone.

Fractured my finger once. Cut myself innumerable times. I have what I think is remarkable pain tolerance.. Don't get queasy at the sight of blood or any of that. Twice I've put cigarettes out on my hand(once while drunk(right palm), once sober(right thumb...), it really doesn't bother me.

I've cut myself twice with a 4 1/2" composite cutting/grinding wheel meant for cutting steel, once on my left middle finger(probably around 3/8" deep, to the bone) and once on my right kneecap. The grinder grabbed on the piece of metal I was cutting, jumped out of my hands, and the blade skipped across my kneecap, leaving 3 cuts. The first was about 1.5-2" and down to the kneecap, the other two werent as long but deeper because they hit the soft fleshy part below the kneecap. I was a little nervous to use it for a few days, but it was the result of a crappy brand of blade, so that went away quickly. Man, that blade will go through anything in a heartbeat. Both of these instances the blade touched me for a fraction of a second. I was wearing leather gloves and my finger just happened to touch it, the blade had no problem going right through the leather and my finger. Then I kept using the glove and burned the same spot probably 15 times, so it scarred =/. I was wearing jeans when it hit my kneecap.

One time one of my friends was sitting on the trunk of a car and the person driving(another friend) floored it, the kid slid off the trunk and landed on his head. Gave himself probably a 3/8" little cut in his scalp, on the back/top of his head, but man that cut bled like CRAZY. His hair was doused in blood, his sweatshirt was covered, and we must have used 20 paper towels trying to stop the bleeding. It was a mess. My other friend(the driver) couldn't stand looking at him, all the blood made him nauseus.

One thing that does freak me out is heights. Its not even like I'm afraid I'll slip and fall, its that there is this fucked up voice in my head wondering what would happen if I jumped. So whenever I'm on a balcony or something I'm having this mental battle with common sense like "you don't want to kill yourself" versus "I wonder what would happen.. I wonder if you could survive a jump, I wonder what it'd feel like to fall" etc. Makes me very tense as you could imagine. Didn't have this problem when I was a kid, I used to love heights... The same voice sometimes shows up when I'm talking to someone(usually an authority figure), wondering like... I wonder what happened if I punched this guy in the face right now.. or if I'm walking behind a cop, "I bet I could grab his gun before he could stop me". I think I need to see a doctor.

You're full of lies and trickery! I should expect as much... but I now amend my previous post... It is a flying robot resembing an insect. Probably a fly, beetle, or bee/wasp. Then again that pretty much covers every flying insect. Aint I smart. If I had to choose, I'd say fly.

I'd have to say its an automatic welding machine like in car assembly plants.Or maybe some kind of walking robot. Like a giant spider or ant.

But seriously, the map is for CS:S. I'm workin on makin my own textures. Coming along alright. I'll post them here when I'm done. I don't want to steal too many from Dust of HL2(although I most likely will use some), just so they don't look the same.

    or

    For the ground:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.lumika.org/mexico/images/MX01_E_32_33.jpg]

    another wall:

    [Blocked Image: http://www.lumika.org/mexico/images/MX01_E_6_17.jpg]

I wish this wasn't black and white...

    [Blocked Image: http://www.lumika.org/mexico/images/MX01_E_30_26.jpg]

    [Blocked Image: http://www.lumika.org/mexico/images/MX01_E_2_18.jpg]

    [Blocked Image: http://www.lumika.org/mexico/images/MX01_E_1_15.jpg]

Whatever, you get the idea. If you know of anywhere to get textures like these already, that'd be great. Thanks!
