Trailer is phenomenal, and intriguing. Can't wait to see more. For whatever reason the trailer on their site does not preload, it'll only buffer a few seconds into the future and stop there, regardless of connection speed... My connection speed at my parent's sucks and could only watch a couple seconds at a time before it got all jerky. Had to let it play through in jerky-mode in the background and rewind to watch

Looks good! Cool shop.
Check it out on street view, moving around you can get some decent angles on it. Also the shop 2 doors down to the right (called ANGST? lol) has the same type of architecture, and is less obscured by signs/trees/vehicles.

AHahahahaha nice outfit, what the hell!! Looks like you're wearing a dingy beach towel for a shirt. And is that Andre you're drinking? Please say it is

and love the hair, daano!! Fro-tastic.

Is there not any more casual games, like in starcraft 1? I remember having a bit better than 50% win percentage in SC1 online play, and I wasn't really great or anything. I mean, I had to have been like 13 or 14.. couldn't have been that good
. I don't mind getting beat, and asshattery has never bothered me. Is everyone super serious online? I just remember loving doing 2v2 with my buddy, he would do zealots/dragoon/archon army to protect me while I built up a stupid huge fleet of carriers. Nostalgia!

People treating Blizzard games as a spectator sport has always confused me.
Yeah its a little odd, but look at that HDStarcraft's playlist.. several game vids over half a million views in less than a month, obviously people enjoy watching them! I've watched a few, its interesting to see how the game develops. I enjoyed watching them. There are a *lot* of gameplay vids on that channel, all of them between 80,000 and 550,000 views. I am surprised at how popular it is, but I understand it.

Generally some awesome photos, especially check out the "Captured" sections for some older stuff and "In Focus" and "Photos of the Week" for more current-events type stuff.

Looks much improved! One crit, the 'cone' area affected by the spotlights above the "Zest" sign seems to be too far down, they should be up near the lights.. they look to have been closer to the lights in your earlier screenshots. Perhaps the cones are too defined as well, they don't match the light prop.
And I agree with PhilK on the height variation! You've got these great curved floor patterns, perhaps at one of those curves make it step up(or down.. hmm) a bit?

forgive the horrid photoshopping, I stink at it and I'm on my laptop

The planter should probably be centered up on the raised section, too. But I really like that floor pattern you have goin on, and it deserved to be accented a bit

As for the lighting I'll stick to pale light tones only and let the sun light do the majority of the work.
Ahh! I was wondering this when I was doing the paintover, I couldn't tell if those were skylights/windows or electric lights... That makes the decision a bit easier

-
I certainly concede that mine is way too blue. I do like the blue-orange contrast though... How about this, my version and dux's blended

I don't know, I'm not feeling the blue accent lights at all. Way too saturated and intense. I definitely don't like the teal-blue lighting in the left side of the first pic, since it seems to be coming from the overhead lights which are not that color on the righthand side.
I spent a little while playing with the hue in photoshop trying to figure out what color the lighting should be with that orange, and the biggest improvement (in my layman's opinion
) was to shift the ambient away from yellow, towards blue, and desaturating a bit. Here is my contribution

The ambient blue is too saturated still, but I'm not going around and selecting all the orange bits again in photoshop

And I don't know what to do with the lights around the island thingy. I'd vote to get rid of them. If you wanted to do lighting there, I'd go with something more like strip lighting, not spotlights.

I used to love worms. Perhaps I will get this.

Sooo a bit off topic but I've noticed this a few times lately... I download the "1080p" hi res trailer, and it isn't 1080p, which is 1920x1080, 16:9 aspect ratio. The trailer (and the TRON Legacy one as well I think) is 1920x800, a 99:40 aspect ratio(or a 16:6.667).. Is "widescreen" no longer wide enough? The screen is now more than twice as wide as it is tall. Is this just something apple does to save a bit of bandwidth or what?! I bought a 16:9 monitor to watch movies on, now even its not wide enough

D3's punctuation is correct, give him a break
If he didn't put a comma there and used "and" instead, then you'd have issues..The screenshots look lovely.
And the original does look better on a whole than that screenshot, Dark! Typically much more colorful. Although a google search does turn up surprisingly few screenshots. Here's a few more

The use of colored lighting in the first one was superb. Brushwork was amazing as well! The new one is a very welcome announcement, I hope it turns out as good as the first! Looks like its in capable hands!

Quote from Duff-eI fall asleep to the brown noise almost every night.
immediately thought of the brown note

edit: although upon listening, it is quite soothing. I'd probably fall asleep at my desk if I left it on

I found it humorous. And I have a feeling that valve can afford to hire a real live british person to do the voices if that is what they had intended... they probably wanted it to be a bad, bad accent!
-
Damn, they made source look gorgeous. And the gameplay looks enormously better, I didn't think that was possible. Impressed on all counts.
