It's like a fortress i guess.
Anyway, those are some nice photos and an even nicer camera. I especially like the last picture

Hah would be cool if some medical students graduated that believe prayer is the only way to cure the body, and refuse to learn about other ways. Way to go Florida.

It's based on one of the most awesome movies ever, so it could never be released by an actual game dev company.

Reminds me of Doom. And whatever crappy generic industrial games have been made before. I am very unimpressed.
-
I am actually planning a co-op mod, with a theme from a movie, can't say too much yet though.

Not such a fan of these pictures, i feel like i've seen all of those before, with 1 or 2 exceptions. Maybe try some more exciting angles i guess.

Looks fun, but Christo is still probably the worst artist alive.

3rd one is my favorite by far

4 pictures that i *really* like + high standards = good job!

Yes before i forget, good job Kami and Mike. It's nice to see mapcore got 2 mentions. Although i really feel that some other maps i saw on mapcore should be able to beat some of those non-mapcore maps chosen by Valve.

I dunno but WHEN did visual quality in deathmatch maps ever matter. At least back in the days, deathmatch was all about crazy fun gameplay to me...and still is. Realistic+Deathmatch don't mix well IMO :X
It never was. But if you can make some pretty play cool, why not go for that? I'm pretty sure it's possible, Unreal is the proof.

The only time i was scared was when i was like 13 and tried to shave my balls.

Played it already, was quite fun but i'll stick to HL2 and mods

It looked AWESOME though, lovely design. Didn't get a chance to play the singleplayer yet, but i'll wait for when it's released.

Maybe it's not overdone for that engine, but in general, it is. And i don't think the engine matters that much.

What ReNo said, i agree. Very recognisable in a good way.

I think the generic industrial indoor metal level look has been way overdone. It just lacks a theme in my opinion. If you want to make this impressive just fiddling around with some details won't help (i do agree that those things Kunfusquirrel listed will help a bit). Make some slightly bigger rooms, add some height differences.

Follow Reno/RD's advice and you've got yourself a great map. Nice start.

Ack, the forums were down when it was snowing overhere. Just 2 weeks ago or something it was -10 with snow all over, now it's 20 degrees Celsius ....
