I really like what you're doing for the rock and the buildings on it. However, i really think it would be more impressive if you'd place that rock in the middle of the sea, with water coming up high when it touches the rocks. Also i'd go for a less round look of the rocks. Sky could also use more drama.

If you center a map around a canal, at least make the canal look really cool. Besides that i see nothing that makes it stand out of the crowd (yep, there's a crowd already) of old canal industrial maps like Peri said. It's just all decent overall, but nothing that will make me remember this.

Looks all pretty cool but it would look even better if the colors you put in combined well (especially the first screenshot)

I spend time in front of my computer, whenever i make paintings i do that on the ground and i skate a lot (not in a casual way but more in an ice-skating kind of way) so my back, is terrible.

To be completely honest I think this whole thing has been blown up like a ridicolously oversized baloon by the press. The woman is basically dead already. The decision is just about making her death official or keeping her chained to her bed in that condition until she dies completely in a natural way. This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. I'm sure there are other people in the same or similar situation as she is right now.

Yep i agree. (Although I do think that now people cannot complete go on with their lives, that's the one thing that can change). The really bad cases are when people are suffering terrible pains every single hour, but doctors are not allowed to help them die a painless death if they'd want to, because they have to die a natural death. Like in England a while ago someone was in that situation but because she/he ( ? ) was paralysed he couldn't kill himself.

    Gin: That made me laugh

I really agree. Although i strongly disagree with Bin Laden's methods i somehow admire people that want to change something in the world and actually go ahead and try to change it. It's not that hard at all to see him as a man fighting for freedom instead of a terrorist. His ways are still wrong of course.

    Quote from Irish

As far as the courts go, i think they shouldn't have gotten involed in the first place, let the family fight it out. Also i just think that the husband should have just moved on with his life before this whole thing got out of hand(i mean she's been like this for a long fucking time, he has to be tapping something on the side or maybe he should have moved out of the country pay for $3 hookers and live like a king haha), maybe he would have if he knew the shit storm it was going to start.

Well, if the family would fit it out husband would take tube out, they'd put tube back in. He'd take tube out. They'd put it back in. And then people get hurt. Besides that i think he tried to get on with his life before, i mean, 20 courts or something (a lot at least) means this has been going on for years.

Gins: Don't take that comment 100% serious. Maybe only like 25%. Or something.

Just curious who voted keep alive. Besides that as far as i know irish he's someone i can take seriously so it's all good. No crucifiction at Easter you know. So Irish, how come 20 courts or so ruled that she would have wanted to die in a situation like this? Also, her situation is not gonna change, her husband probably just wants to get on with his life, and that can change, his situation can get better.

Even with only Valve content you could make some buildings that are more than just houses i'm sure.

Techniques seem to be pretty good, i like the design but i think it would look even better if the body was just a bit thinner. How it somehow looks a bit too heavy for the legs.

Also, sometimes giving the texture on your displacement a strange angle (35 degrees) reduces the repetitiveness

I hope you won't get offended by this but after looking at your website there was 1 thing that i was thinking: You know your techniques, now don't rush a map, don't work on 3 at a time, but spend a couple of months making a great map instead of 3 average maps. I see a couple of Source maps already for example.

Actually i think you should've included some cool buildings / features to make it stand out of the crowd of generic town maps (arab generic town maps even!). Add a mosque for example. Add a Saddam statue, an American embassy, anything.
