Seriously. TS with some cool physics would be like being in an action movie. Even more than it is now.

Nice work! But please think of something that sets it aside from the other church at night with graveyard settings.

Back again. I'll improve those things and post a new version
http://forum.counter-strike.nl/attachme ... 3632&stc=1
Fixed:
-less purple (wood)
-stones on wood
-sharper shadows
-smaller metal things at the sides
-fiddled with the highlights of the rails
-noise at the beams
-sharpened some parts
-fiddled with colors
The only thing that's left to fix (thanks Peris) is that i'm gonna spread the stones a bit better to make sure it tiles well

Why the hell aren't they going to Source? That engine is made for that game

I've still got loads from last year fap fap

Still working on some other textures (including some variations for my white wall texture, /pets klein) but this is my new texture wip. I'm just trying to do as many different textures as possible and rails are one of them. I handpainted lots of stuff which was a good exercise. Comments, feedback and tips please
. Oh one last thing, the compression fucks up the colors, especially of the wood.edit: currently uncartoonifying (
) the textures -
Hmm i think the colors is what can be improved. If you want to show it's summer i'd definately try some brighter colors. Now it's a lot of green / brown colors without much contrast and that makes me scroll through the pictures faster than i should as well. I'd try some more reddish/orange/yellow colors. To show that it's summer and to get some contrast in colors, that keeps peoples attention better (which is good because the composition is cool in most pictures, the pics deserve some attention).

That i can agree with. Same for bumpmapping and that nice water in MI

newsflash: more people play cs than cs:source! it's not dead. it'll take a while for hl1 to die.

I think ube and gins are going this year again, or at least they'll try.

Nice work! I think the skin looks a bit wet in some places (although it looks like something for in the desert so it should be all dusty and stuff, with less reflection), but that's all i could find. The mesh is super.
-
Ouch, i'll just practise some more then. I will try to do it the oldschool way because i'm not really making these to put them into some map but to learn to make decent textures
.I was gonna add some stuff at the bottom (already added a bit, but it's really subtle) and remove some artifacts (like in the upper right corner something is repeating a few times).
Thanks for the feedback Klein~~

By the way i also took my own photos for this one

Working on this one:

So, feedback please. Also, if you pro guys were to add some plants on a texture how would you do that? Rely on decals? I just tried working with a photosource but that gave me some ugly results.

Reduce the highlights a bit i'd say. The texture hurts my eyes. (especially the whites between the bricks). Concrete in the middle looks really neat
-
It's just too small. Smaller is good most of the time but not when it comes to displays
-
Yeah too bad you missed that. Would've been a great opportunity to kick him in the balls so that band can never make music again.
-
Much better already. But i think your level has to much of that one generic gray texture.

Some great stuff, i'm impressed. I like how you can usually surprise me with some angles and i hardly see any photography cliches in your pictures which is good, obviously. Some of these photos show Holland in an interesting way that is new to me as well (i am from Holland), same could be said about Luxembourg (i was there just a few weeks ago, back-packed around the country for a week). Luxembourg is awesome for taking texture ref pics by the way, i'm gonna go back there once for sure. Awesome country. My favorites are:

U2 has some good songs. Like them or not, but you have to admit there's some quality in what they make.

Pretty, although the edge above the door looks wrong. From scratch or photosource?
