I agree with Vivi, compiling maps that come with the sdk

    into HL2DM...

Anyway Valve did a good job on making the Ravenholm

    singleplayer map.

The following 2 pics may have been the most fun I've had in a game.

The game is Planetside, it's a mmofps and prolly one of my top5

    games of all time.

Here's the story behind the pictures:

I'm leading a squad as a New Conglomerate heavy MAX unit.

My squad is part of a large platoon trying to hold a base.

Our base is constantly being attacked by the forces of a nearby Vanu Sovereignty tower. All in all there are around 100 people participating

    in the battle.

So as the battle went on, we realized we couldn't defeat the Vanu forces

by defending. The Vanu were sending more and more reinforcements

at us. Our platoon leader made a plan to attack the enemy tower.

He called on all friendly MAX units on the island to gather in our base

lobby and prepare to assault the enemy tower.

After having gathered around ~25 MAX units we assaulted the enemy

    tower and captured it.

Pic 1. We're gathering MAX armored units into our base lobby.

Pic 2. The assault on the enemy tower

(you can see the tower antenna on the hill)

PS. Planetside is awesome, I recommend it to everyone

Let the crusade begin. I don't care if I'm murdering grandma's,

as long as the game is awesome.

    Hahhah skdr

    That's brilliant.

About the polycount and texture size. I think they're just fine.

If you increase polycount and uvmap size too much, it will lead

to increased development time and probably less entries.

I made a zeppelin for the May modelling contest but didn't have time to

skin it . I may try and complete something this month.

Idea: If this becomes a monthly thing, wouldn't it be cool if the

winner could pick the next months modelling theme?

I would never carry a knife,

    even for selfprotection.

Carrying weapons in public is just

stupid and unnecessary and can lead to

    bad situations.

Randomly stabbing people on the street is fucked up.

I'd lock up the person in a mental institute/prison for life.

This might not be the most intelligent response to the situation, but frankly I think sony is fucked in the next.gen. console competition.

Outsourcing frightens me, whatever the industry/profession is.

And why not outsource? You get the same job done with less money.

Outsourcing is costing more and more jobs in the "Western" countries,

but at the same time people in not-so-developed countries gain jobs.

Not having a job in eg. India is most likely way worse than

in Finland, where the welfare system etc. offer unemployed

    people support.

That "Ninja" company has a good business idea,

and I wouldn't be suprised if companies like that

    become more usual in gamedev.

the visuals are nice and the animation is realistic. The lipsync and voice acting are quite horrible until the very end.

So what was the thing at E3 that impressed you the most?

It can be a game, a console, a booth or simply a piece of news announced at E3. So please tell us what in your opinion was the

best that E3 had to offer this year.

Personally I thought the most awesome thing evar was the

    Supreme Commander presentation.

I'm confident it will be the best RTS game ever made

What can I say, it looks great. Kind of pointless to say that because all next gen. games look spectacular. I liked the original Turok, it was a lot of fun. I'm not a big fan of the jurassic theme though.
