Your points are flawed e-freak. Atheism is a state of mind not a organized system like religions. I don't even know why you have to bring up communism here. Smells like leftovers from cold war fear.

Also atheism isn't a belief. Atheism = disbelief. To proof religious beliefs as delusional is also very easy. Delusion means that one beliefs in superstitious things and no logical argument against it can change his view. This clearly applies to all religions cause all of them have superstitious fairytales in them that make no sense at all from a rationalistic point of view. Even if you belief in one delusion (i guess the christian in your case) you would agree with me that other religions like the mormon church or scientology make no sense at all and are obviously delusional. An outsider to christianity can only look at it in the same way.

I disagree that atheism is dangerous. You have to see that all religious people who actualy believe in their fairy tales have delusions. A delusion is a neurotic mental disorder. Atheism is no delusion. It's a normal state of mind and therefore cant be considered dangerous. All trouble between religious and atheist people is caused by the religious delusions in the first place. If an atheist uses force to make his point then this is a problem of his individual character and not his atheist view of the world.

I recently ordered 10 t-shirts and a hoodie from threadless. For the same price i would only get like 4 shirts of that quality in stockholm.

  • Why Games Will Never Be Culturally Relevant

Actualy i think the "general public" cares less about literature then about video games or B-Movies already. And even 9 out of 10 oscar nominated movies dont have a higher intellectual value then some average video game (maybe not in the best foreign movie category).

In fact video games are culturally relevant for the last few decades already. They have influenced the lifes of millions and the group of people who enjoy games is still growing.

Maybe my definition of cultural relevance is different from his tho.

edit: i figured it would be interesting to find out more about the cultural relevance of games compared to movies via google fights. I compared the two highest rated movies on imdb to two of the best known video game characters.

Godfather came on top of Super Mario with only a small lead of 29,500,000 to 25,500,000. Sonic the Hedgehog on the other won against Shawshank Redemption with 5,520,000 to 3,590,000.

Grin is looking for talented singleplayer level designer for the new studio in Gothenburg atm. I know that you have all the necessary skills. I would recommend you if interested in the job. Also i think you would like the project (can't say more about it tho due to NDA).

  • Britains yob/drinking culture

    • Steppenwolf
    • February 16, 2008 at 10:31 AM

The cause for the problem in britain is similar to this here in sweden: Bars and clubs close too early. Here in Stockholm most close at 3 am latest. This sets the party people under pressure to drink as much as possible before the bar closes. This results in two things. a) the faster you drink, the more drunk you get b) all drunken idiots leave at around the same time and meet each other on the streets or in the subway.

In germany alcohol is a big problem too but imo the related violence is lower because many bars and clubs have open till the next morning, so most people leave at different times and dont meet each other so often. And there is not this culture of drink as much as you can in the shortest amount of time possible.

  • Biggest (european) game convention comes to my home town!

So why should the games convention stay there when even you quit!?!

Because it would give me one more chance each year to visit my family that lives close to Leipzig. On a more serious sidenote the GC is important for the east _because_ of the mentioned reasons like people leaving the region etc. The east thins more and more out. Thats a catastrophe. And if there were decent jobs or game developers i would have stayed there.

Also Leipzig is a much nicer city as mentioned before. Cologne has the cathedral, the rest looks like crap thanks to the world war. Leipzig is a center of culture (Bach, Goethe, Thomaner etc.). Cologne is a center of silly carneval tradition that isnt even funny and only people from cologne can laugh about. Ok enough of city bashing
