It's funny how peoples perception of MJ has changed now that he is dead. Don't tell me you guys were MJ fans all the fucking time

One week ago nobody here would have bothered to defend him and his music. When he said he would give 50 concerts in london everybody was laughing and the media was making fun of him. Now he is dead and the media is trying to make the next Elvis out of him. You know why? Because it sells. It's just a hype. Don't believe it.

And ABBA, well they are considered the greatest pop band of all time and they are not even dead yet. When people think of them they think of their music. Ask people about MJ and i bet a lot of people think about his nose first, or him being a freak who probably molested kids.

I have never heard of Fallout Boy and i only remember that Alien Ant Farm cover because it was all over the radio during the time of the 9/11 attacks. Of course there are always exceptions of the rules but in general i don't think MJ's music is very timeless and cover worthy. He only had a nice voice as a kid and after that it was all over the place vocals and beats. Without the big show, costumes and dancing he never would have had that huge impact on pop culture. The music was only a part of his success.

He created modern day mainstream pop music. Nobody ever considered modern mainstream pop as particularely good music (except for the fanboys and fangirls). He is no ABBA. Most of his songs are not very catchy, especialy his later work. His music is also missing the timelesness. Stuff like Thriller or Beat It is no music that you could cover or remix and would instantly create a new charts hit.

I mean he was nearly forgotten already by the public before he died. What we see now is a hype. People get nostalgic, remember the good times they had in the 80's. And they forget for now why they didn't like him anymore. Soon he will be remembered as the child molesting freak again and his grave will become an morbid attraction like the catacombs of paris.

He was more impressive as a dancer then as a musician imo.

Very disappointing sales. It boggles my mind tho that Terminator sells better. There are worlds between these two games in every possible regard.

The car in the first screen is an east german Trabant 601 station wagon. Coming from eastern germany i always found it hilarious that Valve modeled one for Half Life 2. My parents had the sedan version for a couple of years. With wind coming from the back it would make 110 km/h on the highway.

Yea i try to stay positive and my job search doesn't look too grim so far actualy. Just had a good phone interview yesterday with a top notch company. Worst case that can happen if no studio hires me is that i will move back to germany and do some freelance work from home until the state of the economy gets better and more companys are hiring again.

Just want to say that it's kickass to know all you guys from the internet or in real. It's super helpfull to have contacts basically everywhere in this industry

Yes i know Wunderboy. It was explained earlier already. Infact my boss told me that i was considered a "above average" employee when he had to fire me. I also got two raises within half a year from the same guy, a big one and a small one. He wouldn't give them to someone he dont want in the company.

That law really is a two sided sword. On the one hand it weakens a company that already is in trouble. On the other hand it avoids "bad blood" among the employees because it is a simple rule that everybody understands.

I guess this would also criminalize modders who work on fps stuff.

The fruits look very much out of place tho imo. In the first two screens the lighting and ceilings looks a bit repetive. You can try to break this up by turning of the one or other light source or by darken some of the windows as you did on the third screen already.
