Sandbox reminds me a lot of the editor that we used at Grin. When i checked it out i found it almost identical in so many ways. Guess the tools guys at Grin took some notes or it was a coincidence since both tools more or less represented state of the art technology with their wysiwyg approach. Biggest difference was that we didn't had any tools for terrain since we used model sets even for that.

Was Alphaville ever mentioned in this thread?
Also Splice if you haven't seen it already:
Maybe not exactly low budget but doesn't feel like AAA either.

Looking excellent Minos! This would have landed you a job at Grin if it would still exist

Now i feel a little sea sick.

The space combat in EVE Online looks more impressive and that game is like 7 years old.

It's just aesthetics. Not everybody has the same taste. To me monochromatic games look god damn awful. It reduces depth in a scene, it ruins otherwise great artwork and visuals. It's like covering your collection of Fabergé eggs with a layer of feces. Going by the last trailer it will not ruin the game itself for me, gameplay looks excellent and i get the Deus Ex vibe from it so i'm happy about that as a fan of the original game.
I don't count Killzone 2 in the category of such games btw. Despite it's desaturated look on the surface it actualy has a lot of different colors and oversaturated light sources. It's in an art style of its own and i liked it.

Still not a fan of the yellow piss look but everything else looks very promising.

Currently playing Top Spin 3, Puzzle Quest 2 and rFactor (F1 1985, 1988 and 1993 mods mostly). I think the only game that i finished this year was Killzone.
Next game that i want to play is Civilization 5.

Nice. I don't get why such games get not released on NDS. It would be perfect. You should also check out Arx Fatalis if you like UO. It's more or less the inofficial part 3 and i loved every bit of it despite the aged gfx. It's one of the most well designed rpg's and a text book on how to pack as much exciting gameplay as possible into a small space.

There is no point in actualy making the game "Duke Nukem: Forever". It can only fail, there are too many negative feelings attached to that name. It will either be a huge dissapointment and even if its good it will probably be below peoples expectations.
Better would be to look at the franchise and do something from scratch that people have lower expectations of and are aware that it is not supposed to be the same game.

I know from my time in Sweden that there is a thing called "lagom". It's in a way an approach to life similar to eastern/buddhist philosophy where moderation is seen as the optimal case. This of course affects stuff like work and career too for many.

WIP's of a collaboration work for rFactor between Alex "com8" Hummler and me. The track is called Salzburgring. It's a real race track in Austria.

Breaking Bad is fucking awesome.

Being immortal must be horrible. At some point you will loose interest in everything and then you are still trapped on this planet. Must be like living in hell. Especialy after the end of civilization.
-
Awesome! Would love to do a custom map for that if i find the time.

I don't know the pupose of your last post HP. This is not EOT.
Besides that the idea of a higher conciousness is part of many philosophies and religions, including the big ones (look up "divine spark").

Being an agnostic an pantheist my belief is that our conciousness either stops to exist completely after death or that it becomes part of a bigger conciousness that doesn't know individuals and existed already before we were born. My experiences on magic mushrooms are the main source for that belief. I know that i have experienced it first hand but then i can't be sure if it was just drug induced hallucinations.
