I don't watch enough movies on bluray to contribute a lot to this thread. I only have 3 movies myself. Blade Runner:DC, The 5th Element and Eyes Wide Shut. The quality of the first two is great. I was disappointed with Eyes Wide Shut because it only has the theatrical framing (it was shot in 4:3 then the frame was cut on top and bottom down to 16:9 for cinema). I prefer the 4:3 more because of the retro feeling of the movie and because there is more to see. What's the point of bluray when they don't give the viewer such options? I find that cheap.

They made a TV series about surviving the zombie apocalypse and you complain about glass sounds.

No i complain about such nonsense as a whole because the show is full of it and it really drags down the overall quality.
One could say "yea but the whole zombie thing is nonsense anyway". That's all fair. Give me mindless over the top and unrealistic popcorn action please. But then they should not try to implement "down to earth" characters and drama. These two approaches bite each other. Add on top of that the bad execution+low production values and you get a whole lot of cheese.

Hehe, sounds like all tv shows to me. Hate & love relationship.
Have you seen the first season of Boardwalk Empire? It's a pretty much flawless tv show imo, it also ended last sunday. Really if it wasn't for the lenght you couldn't tell the difference from a great movie. Top notch actors, great production values and cinematography, fantastic script. Mad Men is also almost on that level. Season 4 was a marvel.

Meh, more cheesy plot and idiotic logic flaws. I really loved the pilot, episode two also was very good and promised a great show. From there it went straight downhill for the most part. Shitty script, mediocre (at best) actors, cheap production values.
Ther's hope that they will put more effort and money in the second season considering the success of the show in viewer numbers. But if it goes on like this early in the next season then i'm out.

Another cool website for people to draw cocks and swastikas.

What happend to Al Capone style gangsters? Why are todays "gangsters" so pathetic?
-
Two things bother me more and more about the show:
- there is not one likable or interesting enough character, even the main character comes off as rather stupid
- massive logic flaws (so the blood can infect you then why are they messing and splashing around with the blood and the dead flesh all the time without care for protection? also trouble to find guns and amo in redneck country? give me a fucking break)

Helmets can and do stop bullets. Sure, I'm no solider but I've been told enough by family in the military from their stories and read enough that they can and do. Maybe not 10 times out of 10, but better to have something than nothing. I know that I'd sure rather have a helmet on.
A 7.62mm round went straight through this British army helmet in Afghanistan:

Combat helmets don't stop bullets. That's a legend. One of the first things i was told when i joined the army. And think about it even if a bullet comes in such a flat angle that it deflects from a helmet that basicly means it would have missed the head without the helmet on.

You guys know that helmets don't protect from bullets? Army helmets are for protection from shrapnel and dirt thats flying around. Do the drug lords fight with mortars and artillery grenades? The normal helmets also make hearing difficult which is bad in urban combat (hence you see more and more helmets with ears open in places like Iraq). So i'm not 100% convinced that their no helmet appearence has to do with bad equipment. Could be a tactical choice.
And it also makes sensde that some of these guys have FAL's. Not all of them fight inside buildings. Afaik they have fights up hills and alleys with longer combat distances. It's a good weapon to actualy stop a criminal on mid-range.

I just got K&L 2.

That's quite sick indeed. We have something like this in France atm too but on a way way smaller scale. A 16 year old dude was killed some days ago in Marseille with a kalachnikov and a 11 year old boy was seriously injured, that dead guy is maybe the 6th or 7th in months to die in such conditions. All of this is linked to drug dealers in the city.
And there's a lot of police interventions to arrest those drug dealers, the police always get some good loot in there (warfare weapons, drugs, etc).
Marseille is a scary place. Been there ten years ago and already back then i saw police casualy patroling together with soldiers with Famas rifles. Lots of shady characters on every street corner too.

Got a bit disappointed by the world size of Two Worlds 2. I would call it pretty much a scam now, sadly

Game itself is pretty nice tho, really has it's moments of awe. It had the potential to become the new Morrowind but the devs fucked that up. When promised up to 200 hours of gameplay but the reality is around 30 hours with side quests that's very disappointing to say the least.
Played some Trackmania Nationa Forever again recently. I'm almost in the top 100 of Sweden

That was just shitty generic love drama with little action + annoying redneck characters. I think nobody wants to see this. Good thing this season is short and they will take notes from viewer reactions.
-
Third episode was shit. I hope that was the one odd episode and the rest gets better again.
-
Right now it's purely on principle but things change. There is no guarantee Valve remains a "nice" company and even today i don't consider Steam the best thing since powdered bread. It's actualy pretty shitty for us Euro guys. Competition would be a good thing in my eyes.

That's not what monopoly means, though. Monopoly would be when Steam has all of a given market
Umm but that's exactly what happens with the games that include Steam... If that's no monopoly then what is? There is no option in retail Civ 5 to detach the game from Steam and connect to a another digital distributor for my DLC.
Your semantics seem wrong. The word monopoly doesn't equal market dominance. What it means is that there is only one seller to choose from for a given product or service.
-
The monopoly is when Steam is integral part of a retail game. Steam itself is not a monopoly. Did you guys have no economy classes in school?

Same reason why the EU fined Microsoft for making IE integral part of its operating system.
