    You don't remove a hurdle by putting a wall instead is my opinion. My approach to equality is to give everyone the same opportunities, rights and duties unlike the sort of SJW's who are more into prohibition, regulation and faux solutions.


    Attitudes towards female gamers are not gonna change by putting them away safely in a box. It's hard for them sure. But they are pioneers, same like the first blacks who went to formerly white schools.

    I understand your point but i don't think we do female gamers a favor in the long run by having them compete in special olympics. Unlike athletic sports there is nothing that puts females at a disadvantage physiologicaly. The Danica Patrick of e-gaming will pop up eventualy.

    The things 14 year olds bother about arn't mainstream. It's a subculture. And CS and its players frankly had a very bad reputation in the public.

    There are mixed sport. Low female participation doesn't matter for that. Try to tell Danica Patrick to drive her own Indy 500 in the name of equylity. That would be absolutely ridiculous.

  • Insurgency Mapping Contest

    I haven't organized the contest or ever participted in one but my guess would be that some legal documents will be signed to switch ownership of the intellectual property and then it's up to us to get the map through QA should that be necessary. Or who knows maybe someone will even land a proper job.

    Possible that it will get extended but that's not me to decide. And keep in mind the map doesn't have to be finished in every regard. The winning map just needs to be better then all the other maps.

    I don't know how other map contests have handled it but isn't it the norm that winning maps will see more polish and optimizations afterwards before they get released as an official map?

    Of course when i do "metal with grease layer" it would still be physically correct. But would also get "this metal looks too shiny!" comments. Get what i mean? The question is more if people arn't a bit too hung up with realism at the moment when discussing PBR.
