You need more contrast in the pics. The "white" is a grey in most of your pics. And they are too large for my screen resolution.

they are too big compared to a human. always have in mind that a 512x512 texture in hl2 is a whole storey of a building.
valve has a orange devtexture with a guy on it. this texture is a good reference for scaling

You can buy second hand an excellent semiprofessional Digital SLR cam for that money. Olympus E-20 or Canon EOS 350 D.
