    R-Point

    Quote

What's the only thing worse than the Vietnam War? The Vietnam War with ghosts. A séance designed to exorcise the curse of South Korea 's involvement in overseas conflict (they fought with the US in Vietnam, and they're fighting with the US in Iraq now), R-POINT is a psychological horror movie with the focus firmly on the psychological. The South Korean brass freak out when they start receiving radio transmissions from a patrol that went into R-Point a long time ago, and never came out. The freaky factor gets more intense when the transmissions start coming in French. Before you can say, "I love the smell of ectoplasm in the morning!" they've saddled up a shell-shocked commanding officer (Gam Woo-Sung) and sent him into misty, murky, Charlie-infested R-Point to find out just what the hell is going on. Turns out: hell is exactly what's going on.

I have seen the tin drum, its nice but a bit too weird to be classic.

At least for me it is one. Though the movie is 27 years old it is still one of the most mentioned films on german media and i watch it everytime it is on TV.

remeber how fast google was a few years ago before everybody knew it and they overloaded it with advertismant crap and other?

also i think this is only the first chapter of a future technology. it had to be made like someone made the first computer ages ago. and look what we have now.

i see big real world potential for it

    - for interested travellers to get a better impression of a place before they go there

    - for architects and students to study buildings/architecture in a more interactive way

    - for archeologist/students to visualize/study places

    The Tin Drumhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078875/

Danzig in the 1920s/1930s. Oskar Matzerath, son of a local dealer, is a most unusual boy. Equipped with full intellect right from his birth he decides at his third birthday not to grow up as he sees the crazy world around him at the eve of World War II. So he refuses the society and his tin drum symbolizes his protest against the middle-class mentality of his family and neighborhood, which stand for all passive people in Nazi Germany at that time. However, (almost) nobody listens to him, so the catastrophe goes on...

    a weird flick

This movie is great! a classic!

Worst example ever. Going like that I could say that Germanium is a deadly element, but you have to change the atom a little bit and add a proton....

No its not a bad example since psylocibin only works on human mind due to its closeness to Serotonine.

It's so typical that in drug discussions people think they are experts who in fact have no glue what they are talking about. No offence. Its just an observation.

Meth is an amphetamine, just like wild berries are fruit.Lol stepp you have no idea what youre talking about do you?

In plain english, why would scientists put wild berries on a list when it already has FRUIT on it? Why would they put crack on it when it has cocaine already on there?

RD it is chemicaly correct that methamphetamines and amphetamines belong to one family. But it is just wrong to say they are the same drug. Same goes for crack and cocaine.

Take Psylocibin for example (the hallucinogenic thats within magic mushrooms). Change the molecule only a little and you get Serotonine.

With your logic all people would be on a mushroom trip all the time. But you will agree with me that there is a big difference between normal reality and tripping.

In a list like this generalization of drug groups is just wrong. as said above meth for example is much more addicting as amphetamines and belongs on a higher place in the list for this.

And where a overdosis cannabis can lead to psychosis, schizophrenia etc. I saw that on my brother

Psychiatric clinics are full with alcohol addicts who had a delirium and have serious mental problems. Alsohol can also lead to psychosis.

I knew two people aswell who had cannabis induced psychosis. But they were all hardcore stoners before they developed symptoms. They are not representative for the average stoner and the usual effects of cannabis.

Crack= cocaine that has not been neutralized by an acid.Meth = an amphetamine.

Cocaine and ampehtamines are both in the list

Crack is the freebase of cocaine. Still its not the same drug. Thats like saying wine berries and wine are the same. Crack is more addictive and kicks harder.

Meth = Methamphetamine not amphetamines. Again you try to say that wine berries and wine are the same. The effects of Meth last longer, its more addictive and a dose is much smaller then a amphetamine dose.

    Quote

you have no idea what your talking about

I know many drugs first hand, have read tons of stuff about them. Also i know many drug addicted persons.

This list is a little strange although it is a step in the right direction.

It misses some important drugs and is in some spots not logical.

Where is meth? it should share number 1 together with heroine.

Where is crack? its also a candidate for number 1.

Why is ketamine even in this list and at such a top spot? The drug is so seldom and its safer then other dissoziative drugs.

Bezodiazepines belong on a top place of the list. A shitload of people are addicted to that stuff. Like heroine it makes a extrem physical and psychical addiction and can end deadly.

16 Deaths of cannabis? WTF?? There is no known case of a person who died of a cannais overdose. If at all people die of the nicotine.

Solvents less dangerous then cannabis? Tell this the street kids who die of that crap around the globe.

Ecstasy less dangerous then Liquid? Another illogicaly in the list.

Tobaco and Alcohol are still too low in the list. Both drugs are the deadliest and have the worst influence on society.

Less people would die of heroine btw if it wasnt a unclean illegal street drug. Clean heroine is as 'safe' as other hard drugs. Most people die of the crap that is mixed with it or die of unwanted overdoses when they are used to bad stuff and then get good stuff without being warned about it.
