There is truth to what was on a shirt a guy from Happy Gilmore wore, "guns don't kill people, I do." Coincidentally, he also had a screw in his head.

The point, it takes a screwed up person to shoot people, whether a screwed up person would have a harder time accessing guns with scricter gun laws or not, thats debatable.

    1) I use them a lot, I don't have a wacom tablet yet.

    2) A photo reference isn't necessary, unless you really don't have that good of an idea of what you want. If you're a little iffy on some features, start simple off a photo reference and expand. But if you have a really good idea of the general pattern or material you want to create, no real use in a photo ref. IMO

    3) Depends on what you need. Thats a good way about it

    4) http://www.cgtalk.com They have a pretty good Texturing forum.

    5) CS. I had 6 before, CS was a pretty good improvement from that.

Ask one of your Gbox chums why I can't unlock authentic even though I have completed each level on "difficult". Then slap them.

Play the very first level (drop cinematic) on Difficult over again, except don't skip the starting video.

Ok, I got to Complex XYZ no problems on Authentic, and then got to the end of that level and some damn German in the building across the coutyard killed me. Whooosh, back to the start. That sucks totally. I've gotta say though, the game is much more fulfilling without the suppression icons.

Ok, so I beat the game on Hard... god damn that was difficult. Most times you need to play the hardest difficulty (which in this case would be Authentic) to really have a hard time, but Hard on BIA can really strain you.

Now its onto Authentic... god I'm scared

  • coma woman: live or let die

    • Lurker
    • March 25, 2005 at 4:40 AM

IMO, there are MUCH larger issues that are at hand, this is just an example of a story that the media has used because its a slow news week. Its completely blown out of proportion. What the media is making this about is whether THIS woman should live or die, and not what the larger picture is, which is that other people's lives who are in similar situations are on the line here, not just hers.

SHE said that if SHE was in a persistent vegetative state, she'd want to die. What the hell is her parents' problem? Do they not get that her wish is to die? They keep saying things like, "everytime I go to sleep I dream about her, she can't die!" Excuse me, but did you ever think about what your daughter wanted? Selfish, selfish people.

'Bout time you got one, don't you think? Most of my CD games end up giving me extra coasters anyway, I'm glad there was a DVD for this one.

The AI seems to get more aggresive and act more tactically as you progress through the difficulty settings, thats what I noticed anyway.

A poster would be nice! I've preordered the PC version from EB and just waiting for the phone call that it's in. I plan on playing all night with the settings/difficulty adjusted so that I get the most realistic experience I can with a game

If so, you'll probably want to start on Difficult, but I'd leave the settings on default. If you turn the helpers off, you'll find you'll get your ass kicked. Once you finish it on Difficult, that unlocks Authentic mode. No save points, no suppression icon, no crosshair (this is defaulted anyway), harder enemies.

Prepare for a beating, this game is hard.

I honestly think the PC game has the potential to become an instant classic in the PC gaming crowd. I was a little hesitant in buying the Xbox version first, knowing I would definitely buy the PC game, but I'm happy I did. Whats amazing is they fit the FPS controls and the squad controls onto the Xbox controller with no problems, the controls were definitely a positive for me.

I just hope the PC version is as bugfree as other AAA titles released in the past few months.

Anyone else play this for Xbox yet? Its a killer game. Foliage didn't look too good on the Xbox, but it should look much better in PC with higher resolutions. There were some bugs in the game, mostly evident on older hardware, but we shouldn't need to worry about that for PC if we get good patch support. Lip syncing was so-so as well, and there could have been better interaction between your character, the other squad members, and the environment.

    Otherwise, its rock solid.

I'll trade my whole family, and a person to be named later for BIA2 on next generation hardware.

Aren't they fighting in Carentan as well?

Yes, I think theres fighting in St. Come du Mont, St Mere Eglise and Carentan, but a lot of the fighting by the 101st was done around these towns. Of course, not ruling out the fact that there may be one or two urban maps, just pointing out that the fact theres no urban maps in the first 5/10 reveiled shouldn't come as a shocker

I remember back in grade 3 or 4, instead of writing actual journal entries that my teacher told us to, all the guys in the class would be righting about all these weapons, guns, and violence along with some swearing. I mean, come on. They're kids, arresting them for stuff like that isn't going to help anyone.

Why are all the dumbasses the ones making decisions?

Isnt there any real city fights? Only these countryside'ish maps?Looks cool tho

There wasn't too much urban fighting in the first 8 days of the Normandy invasions done by the squad Brothers in Arms follows. Most of their fighting was in and around the countryside of the french town of Carentan.
