Pretty sure they are just talking about Special Forces, but its kinda irrelevant given that you can play as MEC in the main game without the need for any addon. It was just a big farce all around really! Thanks for the link

Really enjoyed the France vs. South Korea match. Only 3 teams I really care about in this World Cup are Japan, South Korea and Italy, and hey, at least all 3 are still in Not looking like that will be true for Japan for much longer though - I reckon beating Brazil is going to be a tall order for them, even if Brazil aren't on top form at the minute.

Ha, yeah, you sooo need to work harder to get a job  You aren't gonna have any trouble getting hired when you finally get around to applying to places, and you're the only one who doesn't realise it Not that I condone sitting back and twidling your thumbs or anything - your dedication is pretty damned remarkable so keep it up

Fetter, you need to stop working once in a while and take some time to read game news sites

Sometimes graphic design is only enabled through fancy new shaders though - cel-shading wasn't possible without them (not properly at least), for example

Graphics make a huge difference to me. Not that they are more important than gameplay, or that I don't play non-pretty games, but they can make the experience so much more immersive and that DOES matter. I doubt I'd have liked Jet Set Radio half as much if it didn't have such awesome graphics - its visual style made it what it was. I love the Otogi games, but their gameplay is fairly average really - it's the wonderful animation, beautiful art, and, perhaps above all, glorious special effects that make it so charming. PGR3 isn't really different in terms of gameplay to either of its predecessors, nor even the Dreamcast original MSR, yet it is more enjoyable simply because its visuals are so involving you can't help but get more drawn into it. GRAW on the 360 is another prime example - Ghost Recon 2 was a great game but GRAW feels so much more urgent and exciting because it looks so damn pretty and realistic.

You need to own the game to be able to make levels for it really - UT2004 would probably be your best bet though there are other games out there that use the Unreal engine and probably come with editing tools. If you do buy it, then the level editing program - UnrealEd - will be installed along with the game IIRC.

From experience, if you're gonna even try to do a Resident Evil based map, make sure it looks as complex as the game levels did.

I think that is asking a little much when the games set in Raccoon City all used prerendered background Not that you can't give it your best shot obviously, but I think matching the complexity of some of scenes is a little optimisitic.

It looks a little bland and empty in places, but there is some really neat work in there. I love some of the building designs in particular I think its inevitable that its going to feel somewhat empty when you are just one guy trying to build everything with a deadline, so I think you are doing a great job. Keep it up man, best of luck with it all.

I dig it mino, very cool deathmatch architecture done with style and pizzazz. Obviously suffering from lack of cubemaps in those screenies however Good to see a polished looking HL2DM map in today's DoD:S / CS:S favouring scene - or could this maybe be an HL1DM:S map?

Yeah, it's been on my list for a while now but I've still to get around to getting it. Then again, HL2:Ep1 and Sin:Ep1 have been on my computer for a while now and I've barely gotten around to playing them So many games, so little time...
