  • BioShock demo up on XBL!

Yeah, companies really need to get widescreen sorted out. Sure, most games work fine, but I've played a few that don't now. Bioshock seems to be getting a lot of flak for it, but I finally got around to finishing Condemned last night and I felt that had a really small FOV when running in widescreen, and I had a shot on King Kong not so long ago and that seemed to suffer from the same problem. Maybe I'm imagining it, but they both felt extremely constricting.

Hehe, could just be a humorous if unfortunate coincidence. With all the Fallout fanaticism these days I guess post-apoc games are back in fashion

Although on a related note, Atlas does say "Go find a crowbar or something" just before you find it

You know that there IS an egyptian tomb in TR1 / TR:A too, right D3ads? That's exactly where I got in TR:A before I heard there is a 360 version coming out, and so put it down to wait for that

I actually played through this a while ago when I was taking a wee browse of your website, and I rather enjoyed it. It managed to grip me enough that I finished it, which is a good sign, even if it isn't exactly lengthy Obviously it is one of those games that relies on trial and error, but the inability to fail and have to start again means there isn't really any frustration involved, you just experiment with everything clickable. For that reason there isn't really any satisfaction in completing it - something some similar but far more difficult games DO manage - but then watching the results unfold and the animation is probably payoff enough. Good job

Ooooh, very nice! I just had a play through and enjoyed it very much indeed! Definate purchase, but then that was a no brainer from the start.

I thought only Ultimate allowed you to migrate it to other PC's (or work after major PC upgrades), meaning it was pretty much the only reasonable choice for gamers, enthusiasts, etc...

I think they said it has adventure elements and is fairly free-form with side missions etc..., but is NOT an RPG.

Darth_Brush: I quite like the atmosphere in your shots, but I think some of your detail is a bit too clunky. The poster boards are probably the biggest culprit - you could really do with revising the design of those to look a little more subtle and less bulky, and preferably modelling them. The big block currently looks like a load bearing pillar or something, but they obviously aren't since they are spaced to suit advertising rather than structural integrity Make them look more like additions to the basic architecture. That doesn't mean you can't add in some pillars that ARE part of the basic architecture however, but at the moment they don't seem like one or the other.

    Get a haircut yah hippy!

Yeah, I wanted one this weekend as I've got a date I wanna look good for, but I went and left it too late The date is also ice skating, so my mid-length locks will get blown around by my high-speed skating and I'll look like an idiot. Woe is me. I may resort to a hat while on the rink.

Don't think I'm doing anything wrong on that front buddy, but thanks for the suggestion. Dunno if I've maybe just got too shaky a hand (not that I've got particularly shaky hands) to take photos in anything but the brightest of light, as I've not had any trouble getting nice sharp shots when outside in sunlight or when using the flash.

Definately an improvement, but I'm not sure the glass light fixtures woulda survived whatever did THAT amount of damage.

I shouldn't be allowed near a camera - every photo I take with it seems to come out a blurry mess these days. Maybe I should read up on how the hell to use all the features, but I would have expected at least "auto" or "portrait" mode to come up with results better than this!

Hehe, your setup really is screaming out for a nice big widescreen monitor dude - so much free width along the back of the desk Nice to see another G15 user, or is that the screen-free version? It looks like the screen is just folded down but I can't really tell.

    Is Lost really worth watching?

    Absolutely without a doubt yes.

I wasn't particularly impressed by the trailer, but it doesn't look terrible either, which I guess is something. I quite liked the walking and running animations - they looked quite full of character and the run looked like he was genuinely putting in effort. Most game characters just look like they're jogging.

I loved every minute of RE4, and given that this looks pretty much identical but with sexier graphics, I'm pretty damn excited. I hope they have more parts like the first time in the village - it was the against all odds, running around an open section of the environment bits (bit?) I loved the most. The trailer certainly makes it look like that is a big focus of this one

I think they've got more players than Quake 4, so there's that going for them at least

Hehe, I feel your pain. I know they've normally got a handful more than we tend to with The Ship... that SteamPowered stats page can be a painful reminder sometimes Was so nice seeing that number in the 1000's during our free weekends. Still, we're beating Lost Planet at least

I wouldn't call PVK2 and Dystopia failures compared to INS - INS is doing great and that is nice to see, but those mods did well on their first releases as well, so it might be a bit too early to look down on them. I'm sure PVK2 will see quite a resurgence once they get those new player classes out the door - I know I'm looking forward to going back for a crack at it.
