My LE copy arrived with the disk free of the holder and several minor scratches, so from this entirely anecdotal evidence, I guess it is widespread The game appears to work fine though, hopefully I won't run into any problems.

Anybody know how Ico fared in its rerun after the success of Shadow of the Colossus? Don't know how widespread that rerun was, but it certainly got significant shelf space again here in the UK. I'm doubt it was suddenly a top seller, but it would be interesting to see if it did better second time around.

My lunch break normally ends at 2pm, but I just stopped playing and it's 2:30. And I haven't had any lunch yet It ran pretty well on my work computer (dual core AMD, 2Gb RAM, 512MB 7950GT), but when the server got full and the action was all centred around one corridor or so the server really began to chug.

He was a bit of a national hero really, very sad to see him go like this, especially with the two kids involved as well

I'm really impressed by it... but it just isn't my thing Never really liked TFC, and from my 10 minute session of this I'm still not too keen. You guys still deserve a hearty pat on the back though. Great job getting this done, I wish you all the best and hope TF2 is different enough that you guys can sit side by side with active communities

Chris was on my course for a while too Defrag, though I don't think I ever really spoke to him. Does he still make a racket with his eating and drinking during lectures? The rummaging of crisp packets got fairly annoying after a while!

Well if I'd have posted when I intended a few days back then my story would have had a slightly happier spin on it, but life in general is pretty good just now. The downside is that my girlfriend just split up with me at the weekend, which sucks as I really liked her. Things weren't exactly ideal there, as we live in different cities and work 9-5 jobs, meaning we saw each other precisely bugger all, so I can't really blame her. Thankfully it was fairly early on - we'd been seeing each other for just over a month - so although it's disappointing at least it isn't heartbreaking as it might have been further down the line. I'm sad mostly because we were good friends beforehand, and as much as I'd love to go back to the way we were, it isn't gonna be the same. At least not for a long while.

In happier news, I'm still working at Outerlight - have been a year and a half now - and I really like it here. We've recently started a new project, and as I joined near the end of development on The Ship it's nice to get involved in a project from the beginning. Since the company is so small everyone on the team gets to have a lot of creative input, and I tend to take advantage of that by shoving my opinions and suggestions in wherever I can, asked for or otherwise

I had been commuting to our office from my parents house in a nearby town, but a couple of weeks ago I moved into a flat in Edinburgh with 4 mates. It isn't the nicest flat in the world as some of them are students and couldn't afford much else, but it is ideally located in the city centre and it's good to be living away from my folks again. Living with non 9-5 workers is certainly having it's downsides already though, particularly at 4am on Sunday mornings and the like, but I suppose now I'm single again it might have its advantages too

I think I need to start doing more activities, as at the moment my spare time is fairly repetitively spent between games, movies, and, errr, drinking with mates. I'm quite into my ice skating, and my new flat is in walking distance to the ice rink, so I should definately start going there more often. I'm also considering trying out ice hockey, but I'm not exactly built for that sort of sport! I love snowboarding but I only tend to get away once a year, so I should really find something else I can do more regularly. I already miss the poker nights I had with my mates back home before I moved - gonna have to try and build a new crew here in the city!

Well, it wasn't exactly the most official or traditional of announcements, but it's still announced! Consolevania recently did a "fluff piece" as they called it for the Edinburgh Games Festival covering the state of the Scottish games industry, and on interviewing my bosses it was announced that we are working on a follow up to our last game The Ship. This was actually about a week ago, but it just now seems to have hit a few news sites and is doing the rounds.

I know a few of you guys around the core tried out the first one, and I'm sure everybody had their fair share of issues with the game, as fun as it often was. As is being reported, this time around we've a fair bit more support in that it isn't being developed off our own back financially. Hopefully that will let us follow through on some of the potential that the first game had, but maybe didn't live up to.

Obviously can't say an awful lot more just now, early days and all that, but thought I'd share it with you lot

Hehe, that bit kinda confused me too Taylor. I mean, all they really needed to do was have Atlas encourage you to use it or something. Just having your character jab himself with the thing without any hesitation or explanation was a bit...WTF

Stolve, I don't really see why you think console to PC ports "aren't worth the money at all", as if the intention of the developers to target consoles first somehow undermines their merit as games. I agree some ports aren't the best and that sucks, but just because they ARE ports doesn't mean they aren't deserving of your money, nor does it give you legitimate reason to pirate them. Oh and Crysis, Hellgate: London, and World in Conflict - there's 3 promising PC only titles. I'm sure there's plenty more out there, but I'm kinda more one of those console guys that is, admittedly, better catered for

Played a fair bit tonight...rather lost track of time actually Very very good game, I can see why it is garnering such acclaim. I thought from the demo that the gameplay wasn't as revolutionary as they'd have us believe, and I still don't think that it is, but the areas you explore in the full game are so much more open and exploitable than the one in the demo, so you have far more options. Atmospherically this game is pretty much in a league of its own, they've done a fantastic job of sucking me in.

I need to pick up a new set of headphones myself actually - about time I invested in some good ones. My existing, not-too-hot pair get left in my office, but I'm about to move into a flat with some mates and I don't think my 5.1 system will be appreciated by them or the neighbours!

I can sympathise with stolve's problem of breaking/worn cables, but for me that only happens on earphones I use on the go with my mp3 player. Those are something I'd love to spend money on to get a good set of, but if they're only gonna last me 6 months I don't really wanna splash out too much.

I watched my mates play it a fair bit this evening (barely got a shot myself) and it came across as being pretty damned awesome. Looks like a definate buy to me, but I'll give the demo another shot tomorrow to see if I still feel the same.
