Very small electromagnetic field and heat (propably the only two things a laptop "radiates") is not enough to do any real damage to your sperm, otherwise every man on the planet would be affected, there are sources that emit heat and have greater electromagnetic fields all around us. So don't worry and top your lap with a laptop.

If you need a good wysiwyg editor I really suggest that you check out GoLive from Adobe, I used to use the Dreamweaver, but I have done so much coding by hand that it's tools are no use to me what so ever, so I use GoLive to design the sites since it integrates quite good with Photoshop and Illustrator.
I really like your site since it is very minimalistic, the way I like things, but there are some things you could do to improve the user experience and even make it look bit better.
But many of the Discovery channel series are reality tv, like American Chopper, Mythbusters, Monster Garage and so on, they are not scripted programming.
Tho they are the good kind of reality shows, they don't make you dumber, they teach you things.
My alltime favorite channels have been Discovery, Animal Planet and History, they rock. People who don't watch documents and edutainment don't know what they are missing.

But this all boils down to the expansion pack disccussion. The original game sets so much for the expansion pack, I mean, I don't think any of you would be thinking OPforce was so good if HL wasn't so good.
I know I wouldn't love Frozen Throne so much if I didn't love WC3, so I'm guessing that the Aftermath expansion is going to be as exciting as bleeding eyes, the more I think back to HL2 the more I think that there was absolutely NOTHING great about the game itself, the engine with all it's doodads is very impressive, more so than Doom3, but story was bland as a tall drink of water from a pint. So what more is Aftermath going to give us? More of the uuh.. so good mediocrity that blends to the surroundings, no thanks, I got better things to do.
The weird thing with wacko jacko and his merry men is that they shout out how wrong games and how they make childred kill eachother and all that bull.
But I believe that if you say to him that kids wouldn't kill people if they didn't have so good access to guns, in USA almost like half the population has guns, and he thinks GAMES are bad? WTF!
If we look europe, we play as much videogames as they do in the States but we have so much less these killings and violent acts. And every time I hear or read about some kid gone berserk, every time, he got a gun from somewhere very easily, sometimes his dad owned a gun, and then with that gun he got hold of some more guns and grenades and sharp sticks and what not.
So is this piece of blubbering pussy against gun laws? Fuck no, he doesn't mind the guns, they just kill people, he is way more worried about a form of media and entertainment.

HL2 and it's "siblings" are very dependant on shader performance, and the FX5500 is propably lower because it can use the dx9 shaders and the raddy9200 uses the old dx8.1 shaders, thusly not using so much of it's power to run the "eye hump" (yes that is a scientific term). Other deviously dastard is the memory, I have 512DDR and with my rack HL2 takes it's sweet time to load everything, so it might hinder your performance further. It is true that HL2 is very CPU dependant, BUT it is also very intelligent and scalable system, since I don't see that much of a difference between CPU performance with my old Athlon XP 2600+ and my new 64 3000+.
So, you might want to try the older dx8.1 shader model for the game.
