I think the Conan MMORPG could be cool, I like the world it is based on, and the stuff I have seen, makes it look pretty nice and it is bit different from your typical fantasy MMOG.
But we have to wait and see, I was pretty disapointed to the Anarchy Online when I tried it.

dynamic reacting vegetation was the best thing ever
I wonder why this hasnt been done before :s (AFAIK)I'm not sure about the nuts and bolts behind this, but I think it's propably because of the same reasons why you can't do dynamically interactive chains hanging from the roof on UT2k3/4, the collision detection and physics calculations eat loads of resources, but then again, it's Karma, that thing sucked ass.
I'm not sure how well would Havok 2 do that, since it is running alot of HL2 items so I think it would be possible to use those elements to vegetation, and Doom3 has per polygon or was it even per pixel collision detection.
What ever the reason, I'm looking forward to running through the vegetation and watching everything wobble as I go by

And will Crytech will be the first one to release the next-next-generation game. They are sneaky devils, it was a huge debate on who will release the new hotness first, Valve with their HL2 or id and Doom3, but then somehow Farcry slipped under the radar and beat everyone to it, and did it farly well, even better than HL2 and Doom3 on most parts.
But DAMN! That video was so fucking awesome, everything was looking so photorealistic and fluid, dynamics were awesome and I have to tell, that is the first and best example how future games will look like. And I actually tought that the row of heads was a real picture

-
First I tought that LoW was another touchy feely picture like 'The Weather Man' but then I saw the trailer and was positively suprised, didn't think any Nic's movies other than Ghost Rider would interest me, but I'm thinking about seeing the movie.
Nic's career has been medicore at best, bad movie after another so every time I hear he is doing a movie, I'm just confident that it's not even mildly interesting or entertaining.

Rare was fucked when it was sold to MS, most of it's licences went to Nintendo and I don't even think that they got any money from them.
And all I hear is that Rare is nothing but a name anymore, all the original developers have gone away and only thing that remains is few trademark characters like PD and Conker.
But that said, I'm pretty confident that those two were the ones MS wanted, them being more "mature" and all.

Good stuff...
I'm finally pretty confident that Revolution is a good competitor for the newbies, Xenon and PS3.
Just talked with my cousin and we have both made up our minds, Xenon and Revolution will sit on both of our shelfs. If my prediction about Die by the sword type gameplay on the next zelda game and the outcome of Metroid 3 I'm just not going to touch any other console.
-
Yeah, if you could put in the GC controller or somehow use the DS as a controller (which nodoubt will have alot of connectivity just like GC and GBAs) playing the older games will be a breeze.
Just watched the videon on Gamespot about the Revolution controller, and if I understood correctly form the horrible Japanese translators mumblings, Nintendo has already designed (or is designing) a more conventional controller interface that you can hook up to the Revolution controllers expansion slot, as for why you have to plug it in to the expansion slot like the analog stick is beyond me, they could have gone with the Wavebird or something similar.
-
Fullauto, obviously you have never been in the web development circles, where people do programs for free and rely solely on peoples generosity for funding.
And if you check out the MMORPG market, there are games way lesser quality and there are hundreds of player paying $10 per month just to torture themselfs on a bad game, so if my "donation" will help Telltales go further and make a great game out of fantastic licence I'd be happy to shell out, since I expect people do it for me if I had a game company and I was making a game out of loved licence.
-
I'm so hyped about games like die by the sowrd on Revolution, or games like Oni and Thief.
But I just can't comprehend the next-gen consoles, I don't think that we are going to see alot of straight ports like we are seeing right now, Xenon being the only "normal" console that resembles the old generation the most, PS3 being the multicore fuckhead with everything different to everything done ever and it is just made to make the developers life much harder, and the last but not least, the Revolution whose control interface is just out of this world makes it impossible to make a straight port of a game from platform to platform.
Is this the end or something?
-
DAMMIT! Is this like a train I always miss? Just posted Revolution controller thread to the Mapcore discussion and didn't notice this post had the link already
I'm an idiot, so what you are going to do.
But the Revolution controller is way sweet, and it is by all means revolutionary when compared to the traditional console pads. This controller will finally get me in to the console fps games that I have hated because of the sucky controls for so long.
-
It was kinda expected, but that doesn't make it a single bit less revolutionary. As far as console controlling goes, Revolution takes the jackpot in originality. And as a long time console fps hater, and the main reason being the controller, my fps game catalog for revolution might just get bigger.
But I'm just bit curious, from the moment they announced that revolution can play old nes, snes, n64 and GC games I was thinking, if the controller is revolutionary, which means that you have to use your whole body to control revolution games, how would that control scheme translate to old games with a pad, would I have to wave my left arm to "run" on super mario and at the sama time twist my face to jump and wiggle my leg to duck?
I'm still pretty confident that it would be cool if you could attach your DS to the revolution somehow to play the old games, since that controller doesn't seem to be that good for playing snes games.

I'm fairly confident that it is going to rock. Grim Fandango didn't suffer any bit about the fact that it was in 3d, and the amazing fact that Steve Purcell is with them, making it the real Sam & Max game is just a clear sign of funny, I got all Sam & Max comic books on my shelf to prove it.
-
I got a music player in my head, it's called humming with a tune, it's the smallest player ever made!
-
WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!! YEAH, IN YOUR FACE!
SUCK THAT! WHO'S YOUR DADDY! STEVE PURCELL! YEAH

Relic sucks... there, now we are even

Nah man, I want being sarcastic, I played the first MGS for playstation for along time, it was great, but after a while, it just got veeeeeeery repeative, same thign to fool those guards, same thing to snap this ones neck, same thing to get through the game and so on.
And it didn't have that much playability to start with, it controlled like a beta version of GTA3, and the stealth was just stupid, "look at me, you can't see me through this see through plexiglass!", the story was great in every game, I wish the japanese mullet fan would write them in a book so I could read them instead of playing through several repeatitive games.
U know, what ever.

WHAT!
And even after this the game sucks ass? The last good Metal Gear make was on a 8-bit format.
