I have made none, but I have wathed thousands of speed demos and strolls of video games, makes me wonder, what is different.

It gets worse. Rumor has it that DX10 is not backwards compatable because it will use an entirely different set of libraries. If you launch any game that is not DX10 in windows vista, vista will emmulate a DX9 enviornment (think of what mac OS10 does for
Dont know about you guys, but I'm not all that anxious to jump onto the vista bandwagon if this is true. Worst comes to worst, I'll do a dual bootup with xp and vista until the hardware is fast enough so I dont even notice the difference in performance.
Well, most part, that "rumor" has rendered toothless, DX10 HAS a different set of libraries to speed up the process, but there is no indication if DX9 and older will be software emulated (software emulated software? WTF!) but there are some support complications like the sader library 4.0 which is basically a rewrite of the whole thing, so it might not work 100% but the predict is that it will work like 98,99% or something like that.
Yeah, that might be true, since MS can't confirm the support everything it developes on DX libraries on OGL, so they might have to remove the straight support for it, BUT since it is hard code, there is nothing you can't actually do, you can actually write your own API if you have the time, but I can't see why you would use OGL for windows application anyway, if you port for Linux you could just aswell port the libraries to OGL format and same for Mac OSX.

19 - WoW, Shapening of the World (CE Track), (Kosmo) (BTW, thw WOW music's no remake of WC2, there is only one tune in WOW that is a real remake/cover/remix, and its not imgame)
*shines hipshot on his endless well of knowledge on everything warcraft* Actually, I have the WoW soundtrack and Warcraft 2 soundtrack and you can clearly tell that many of the songs are remakes of the original classics and in an interview of Chris Metzen, he said that alot of stuff, like music, are remakes of the WC2 which was 'The One' in Blizz fanboi circles.

But completely free education is what I believe in, my dad is loaded and I could have gone to fine schools even if it wasn't free, but I know alot of people who I work with that are very talented and they woulnd't have had the chance to go to school if you'd have to pay for it.
And in a country like this, if you don't have education, you have harder time to get a job and when you are unemployed, you live in social security and become actually a burden to the society.
American dream is based on wishing and luck, maybe it works for some, but you have thousands of people actually dragging the rest down to the gutter with them, because you'll fall through, there are so little crimes in scandinavia because we don't have to steal to eat, our goverment, OUR goverment, the people WE elected and the people that answer to US, take care of US.
We pay the taxes, the goverment employees are our employees, I own my goverment, and that is why they take care of me, that is what I pay them to do.

It's hard to get a glue when most of the 10 second parts are just some low bass key and no melody, it would help very much if you took the melodies.

The particle fire is way more dynamic than the old "flamethrower", they move more realistically and you can make it act like a real fire, something that is hard to do with the flame texture fire.
IF that was what you mean, I don't remember the flame from CoD.

Well the Inquirer tells us that DX10 will support shadermodels even over 4.0, also the DX10 should be faster, with many new goodies, like a completely new (?) Geometry Shader model.
But what I'm really worried is this:
"As of DirectX 10, to be introduced in Windows Vista, 3D features will be bound to version numbers of Direct3D. What this means is that all 3D vendors will support the same features, guaranteeing compatibility across the board. Although this may sound great, allowing for a more standardised games development environment, the reality is that Microsoft will soon be regulating the introduction of 3D features, leaving companies such as NVIDIA and ATI at the mercy of the software giant."

Alot of guesses and alot of pure rock solid manly knowledge

1. sounded like Bubble Bobble song, but man, it has been about good 8 years since I last played it

2. def C&C
6. remix of Megaman 2 song (Heatman stage)
9. again a guess, maybe Kirby
12. my guess is Generals

14. def a remix of Duck Tales song (The Moon scene song)
19. Warcraft 2 / WoW song, (they both use much of the same, WoW ones are just remakes)

The top most looks more like a router than a switch, as you can see from the bottom one, rackmounted switches and hubs have a distinct look, leds for every port and a series of ports according to the leds.
As for the ftp, I'd recommend that you think about having an external filesharing host, many web hosts have this kind of service where they have a web interface for creating accounts and all that bling bling, besides if you don't have a solid security pro in your office, it is extremely risky to do this kind of work.
I'm just assuming that those servers you have there, are set up by some professional and not someone in the office

There is no telling what the servers do jut by looking at them outside, our servers here where I work, are just for office datasharing and storaging, but it could run a database server, web server, ftp and whatnot. My Linux machine here in my office runs tons of programs, like SSH server, web server, MySQL and few other programs to handle bluetooth connection and such, and to monitor the network traffic. It's a jack of all trades.

Been thinking around this movie a bit now, I don't find it that cool anymore, sorry. It can be done with the current Cry Engine, with some added code as with Doom and Unreal. What they only showed us was really a more advanced and realistic physics, that with the leaves. The day cycle is already possible in Doom, and volumetric clouds can not be that hard to implant, not soft particles either. Unreal 3x has already soft realistic shadowing.
Well, if you are going to make an engine that can actually render 60 frames per second real time you can't stray far from the current technologies, especially if you are making it straight from the specs DX10 has set for it.
Sure all these neat things like volumetric clouds and day night cycle and all can be done in alot of modern engines and actually seen some open source projects where they have added normal mapping for the original quake 1 engine, I'm not so suprised if you could add all this bling to quake 1.
But it's not about that, it's more about how good they make things, like Alan Wake engine, or the earlier Max Payne engines, they didn't do anything that was impossible or so new, they just made thigs that had done before and made it way better than earlier tries.
I'm just crusious, why Cryengine has had so little publicity, didn't anyone actually license the engine? I don't know all the specs of it, but what I know about Source, I'd rather license Cryengine than Source, especially when I was doing a game where you have to see far and have alot of enemies and vegetation, Source just seems to hog resources when there are alot of things happening on the screen.

Now we have to just wait if Crytech will release their next-gen engine and game before S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is released

The day night cycle reminds me alot of the one that Alan Wake has.
