Hasn't US policy on torture in their "war against terrorism" already become very clear? Does anyone need to get a clue anymore.

You can't compare donating money to charity with boycotting the army. Both charity and the army are ultimately for a good cause, atleast here in Finland. The army is not for war, it's for defence and security. (NOTE: atleast in Finland)
Well, you really can't compare the "good" cause of the army to the really good cause of a charity like SPR now can you.
Quote from GrayFoxYou haven't experienced it so you can't say anything about this. I didn't personally change much, but I saw A LOT of growth in others' personalities.
People are the sum of their experiences and the army is one hell of an experience.
I agree, it might be a hell of an experience, and I agree that people are the sum of it's parts, but I just can't agree that when one goes to the army he all of a sudden becomes a better person, or worse person.
I have friends who have gone to the army and I have friends who have taken the civilservice, neither of them are dramatically different from each other. I even have one who got release from army because he had overweight, and he isn't that different either.
I went in to the theater last week, I'm a now culturally savey?
If you worked there for like 20 years, then you'd definedly be different from others, and even more different if you went in to some sort of military school. But some 6 months of camp can't change person dramatically.

It's narrowminded to think that army changes you in someway.
No, for many people it's a fact.
And some people think Genesis is a fact.

Kosmo, its like that in every country. The world isnt perfect, just take a look at yourself and what your doing to help all these poor ppl, nothing. Doesnt mean you dont care does it?The reason you think too much money goes to your army, is PEACE.
So what if it is the same in the whole world, does it make it ok? Or does it make it so that no one should make anything about it?
I donate as much to charities as I can, last year alone I donated around 200€ to Finnish Red Cross. I went to civilservice not to be a burden to the society, atleast I didn't COST anything to the goverment as opposite to those who chose to go to the army.
And ofcourse I think that Finnish defence forces spend too much money to upkeep because of peace, but finland has around the same amount of soldiers in reserve than Norway and Sweden put together, not to mention tanks and helichopters and all that shit.

Well, Sony has made some strange choises in the past so this isn't anything new that they are trying to separate themselfs from the crowd. And with 21,5% share of the whole music industry sales covers their ass pretty good.
When it comes to big companies, it's not a question if something is legal or not, it's just a question of are they doing it or not.

Because you weren't in the army doesn't change anything and people don't pay any less taxes. You might as well experience what you are paying for. Some of the memories I have from my time in the army are priceless.
The good thing about the army is that it really makes many people mentally tougher (also physically, but that's less important) and they become more responsible individuals.
You mean like, if I donate money to the red cross but it won't save everyone, I shouldn't do it? If I don't accept something, but it doesn't change anything, it's meaningless? You got some twisted mind there.
And it's straight bullshit that Army somehow magically transforms you in anyway or another, as well I could say that civilservice turns you man because often the job is hard, the pay sucks and if you try anything funny you go straight to prison. But I know that is bullshit also so I won't say it.
If you are a sack of shit when you go to the army you are one when you come back from there, it's up to you yourself to make the change. And usually it happens when you grow up and realize that life isn't that easy anymore.

My pacifistic toughts didn't stop me from going in to the army, the fact that finnish goverment spends 2 billion euros of taxpayers money every single year to fund our beloved "experience of a lifetime."
And after all that our country has homeless people, goverment cuts back it's services and public companies like VR (railroads) and Posti (postal service) loses more and more funding and resorts to stupid cutbacks, not to mention the funding schools get and the study grant are both rediculous.
This country doesn't care one bit of it's citizens, if they did, Finland would be more like Sweden. But we are a capitalistic country ran by selected elite.

dude #2 - "hey man if thats what you wanna call it"
I think that it is very common answer if you ask anyone about something like that. I myself am a civilservice man (I didn't go to the army), pacifist to certain extent, and I have been absolutist and a vegan, so you can imagine that combination in a country where people still worship people who go to the army (around 70-80% of young men in Finland go to army) and are all around walking hardons, the amount of wise cracking assjockeys I have tolerated so it is very common for a guy like me to say "just call it what the fuck floats your boat I simply couldn't give rats ass about your narrowminded views."
So give a break and stop grinding everyones ass.

It has come to attenttion that record company Sony BMG uses a copyprotection software that has some shady things going on.
When you put your music cd in to your computer and try to play it, the cd asks you to accept a license and it will install a "player" which in truth is actually a malware program or "rootkit." The program tries to hide itself from the user and from possible security software.
Removing the software without Sony's help will in many cases have conflicts with your operating system and/or hardware.

I think that it is going fast to the situation where PCs are mainly used to play internet games and MMOGs, I don't see any console no matter how hawt their Live or other is. There are just so many strenghts in PC gaming, like modding, better and more adaptive network architechture, and I don't see consoles able to do fps MMOGs with their puny memory, hell, if you want to walk around Orgrimmar in WoW and still have FPS more than 6, you have to have atleast 1gig of memory.
But consoles and singleplayer games and multiplayer games without internet connection, I'm sad to say that most of the games are just done better than PC games.
Sure PCs still dominate FPS and RTS markets, and pro gamers use PCs.
Other than that, we are doomed.

It's not a question of what happens after person is tortured, and how will it effect those around him. Terrorists in most cases.. oh who am I kidding, in EVERY case are not wrap so tight, so do you really think that the fact that someone was tortured has any effect at all?
It is a moral issue, if we see necessary to torture someone, how we are any better than the person who makes sneak attacks at our country?
I don't think that torture is right in any case, not even the most extreme case.
-
Like you said it's an double edged sword.
You might save lifes by torturing a terrorist or evildoer of some sorts, but you also might be torturing an innocent person or get false information.
It's hard to say right and wrong in a situation like this, comparable to the pcifism ideology, I myself don't believe in violence, but I'm not an absolute pacifist, in a situation where I can save someone dear to me (like a wife or kid) I will use violence.

uhm... no... The thing is, with higher levels, comes better gear, which means that you will probably find a green item that will be better than your epic staff^^
I have gone through few different weapon classes with 50-level epic weapon and 60-level uncommon weapons and I just can't find anything to proof your idiotic point. The item system works that epic, legendary and artifact (when they come) have swell bonuses with +stats and passive/active functions, when uncommon items usually just have better quality and rarely anything world changing.
Many even hardcore 60 level PvPers still use some level 40-50 epic stuff because they are so good, until they find level 60 epic or maybe even legendary item to use, epics just are so good.
And example, my druid has Tanglewood staff, level 41 RARE (blue) item with 109-165 dmg +18 Spirit and +9 STR with passive enhancement of rising my Nature Damage with 14, when I check uncommon staves you have to go to the level 59 one with 113-171damage and it has +24 intelligence before you find anything that is better, 18 LEVELS MAN! 18!
Now take your braing in to your hand and think very hard how big the gap would be if the stave were Epic, and actually I have a really good example here, Glowing Britewood staff level 49, damage 127-191 +29 int +15 sta +9 spi +15 natural resistance it's just level 49 and it is the best stave you can have in the game. Now I'd like to see level 60 one or even level 70 one with that much stat boost.
Maybe you just don't understand the value of +stats on items, or maybe you just don't understand anything about WoW at all.

But Nazis exterminating Jews out of blind hate without Jews having the possibility to defend themselfs, compared to Jews and Muslims fighting over land are two completely different things.
During Holocaust, Nazis didn't need a reson to kill Jews, as opposite to this time when there is a reason for a war.

It's very cool that they have finally made the expansion that I have been waiting since the release of WoW, but they did all the wrong things, I would have been happy camper if they brought Northrend and a third party to the setting, with Scourge. But I guess the caverns of time are extremely cool so I can't complain. And I'm looking forward on taking some acid and hopping around Outland in my FLYING FUCKING MOUNT WHILE I'M LEVE 70 MEAN BLOOD ELF MOFO!
And anyone who uses the retarded "level raise is bad because level 60 guys are screwed" how the fuck can level 60s be screwed since they are the first ones to hit the level 70, and besides, my druid still uses a level 41 epic stave on my level 60 druid and it is almost the best staff you can get, kicks easily anyones ass. And if you are lucky enough to get a legendary item, it doesn't matter if it is level 1 it's still better than anything in the world, and it will certainly kick any level 70 item below epic quality.

I heard that most people who saw it are dead because of murder suicide pact they made, most of the people were survivors from The Rocks earlier attempt to kill them with bad acting from Scorpion King and Be Cool.

Norway, the single most expensive country ever, like all scandinavians your selfesteem knows no boundaries, with high taxes and long coast you make more money than god thanks to the hundred billion tons of black gold you suck from the bottom of the sea, I bet americans are good friends of yours. Fishing, is there any other industry than fishing industry? Besides Oil industry that is, you pull fish from the sea like Japan. Your Heavy Metal scene rivals even Finnish.
Ok, now do Finland.

Well, afterall it WAS completely differet thing, Jews were opressed during the WW2, with no resistance at all, so I just can't speak seriously when someone is comparing the Holocaust and this travesty together, even if it was a joke.
