I hate how they fill everything these days with trivial information and numbers. Like with GPUs, only things you actually need to know about it is the memory and DX/OGL generation since those two things are what game recommendations usually ask for.
And with currently the next-gen processor and memory architechture you can't even evenly compare the consoles so telling any specs is just pointless to the consumer, unless they have certain education or can actually understand what the specs mean.
After reading the Gamesindustry article "Comment: Games, not specifications, will win the next-gen battle" I agreed with the author. He was right, not a single spec will help you if your game sucks ass.
So this past weekend I had a debate with my cousin, mainly a matter of taste I know, but it's not that it is some kind of rocket science.
The debate was about wether or not the specs of console effect visual quality more over other aspects. I said as an artist myself that naturally the team has the most influence how good/bad the game is going to look.
I used Final Fantasy series as an example, even if they came to significantly older platform as PS2 they still rocked many Xbox games out of the competition. Square Enix just has tons of talent and they are in the game for show. Another good example is Team Ninja, DoA2:Hardcore for PS2 was a beautiful game, and so was DoA3 and Ninja Gaiden for Xbox, different platforms, same result, thanks to the team.
I'm saying that if there was a way to measure the ratio I'd go as far as say it was 75% team and 25% platform specs when comparing with consoles that are around the same generation, to eliminate the retarded and obvious comments of "but all the Xenon games look way better than the games for PS."
But this is a forum, not a Conan O'Brien monolog, so discussion ensues, post me your opinions and angry remarks.
Last time I checked, Ukrania isn't Russia. Or do GSC have a team in Russia that is doing the Stalker?
They are making Valve and 3D Realms combined, "when it is done" and "when it is done it's going to be technically outdated" awesome!
But who the hell cares! People still buy and pay big money for GBA games that are from the 16-bit perioid, not to mention the 2d fighting games.
So if it is a good game, it's a good game.
They shouldn't just give him time, they should put up a good old fashioned beating.
You are really strange person indeed. But you whip up a funny picture.

Funny things can be found when you go through your reference photo library, this funny picture of yours truly was found in the pile of around 70gigs of reference photos and poses.
So enjoy my face!
Hard one, I had that title reserved for Starcraft Ghost, but it gets the next years title.
But it's a close call between several games, Ninja Gaiden Black was propably the best game ever, Psychonauts reminded me why I loved games so much, Sid Meiers Pirates was just too good to be a game, it should have been a drug.
But it might just go to Ninja Gaiden, so very very awesome game.

Yesterday? I tought that they were all sore and red and fucked up looking for a week or so, atleast bigger ones, a friend god his full arm tattooed and it took around 5 times to get the whole thing done and his arm was all swollen up and it looked like it had been hit with a hot frying pan.
Well, stolen car sucks ass so very much.
Once I left my bike near a liqour store over a night - bad move I know - and when I came back the tires were slashed, I was like "oh man" but I was too tired to carry it back home so I left it there, I mean what could possibly happen to a bike with slashed tires, well, few days later when I got my brothers car to pick it up, I went to the place where I left it and IT WAS FUCKING STOLEN! Abike with slashed tires and it wasn't not much to look at, an old fucker tiead to the bike rack with heavy chain and someone went through the trouble to fucking steal it, I mean what the fuck!
Few weeks later I moved out of the neighbourhood to here where it's much safer and things don't get stolen even if you left them unlocked.
I'm still in Finland.
They have money now?
Ofcourse we can see from the situation in France that not all European countries have things so good for everyone, but my view of healthy society isn't France by a long shot, I'm not 100% sure, but I think Germany has way more immigrants than France and they seem to be ok with the situation in there.
Not taking care of the "waste bags" is just the biggest problem in the world, you have be very naive not to see it, those "waste bags" were people once, but something changed and their life went down the drain, now they have become those people because your goverment doesn't take care of them, and they don't have any way to get back on their feet. They need to resort to stealing just to eat something, it's a crime done out of need, a need created because you just want things for yourself and fuck care about the poor guy over there. That is what I ment when I said that you are destroying your own society.
We had a lecture when I was in the training center when I went to do my civilservise - in America you do civilservice because you comitted a crime, in Finland you do civilservice because you don't want to go to army, funny - and there was this traveller guy who has spent large part of his life travelling around the world and working for various causes like digging a well in Africa and cleaning oil spills and such. He had visited alot of third world countries and his view was that those people were way happier there without any money than we are in western countries with our money and all this shit.
He took Cuba as an example, even with the situation - mostly created by the US embargo - the people were way happier than people are generally in here, and those people actually liked the country the way it was, something many Finnish have seen from Madventures aswell. People actually cared about each other and worked for common goal.
No
THIS guy has way too much free time on his hands. Talking about being useful part of the society and all.
Well, like I said, they have dramatically changed the gameplay mechanics in their previous games, AND adding that Blizzard is an online gaming pioneer, more so than Valve, I wouldn't shut out the possibility of Guild Wars style action with semi MMOG type gameplay but alot of singleplayer elements.
This goes to the category "rumor mill" but I just couldn't left this unposted.
I was browsing through Blizz employment site to see if there is anything new - and maybe I could fit there some where - and I stumbled across some mighty peculiar things.
As for some job applications straight out say "we are looking for environmental artist for award winning World of Warcraft" and others say "Blizzard, the creator of Diablo and Diablo II is looking for.."
I don't quite know if that is them just assuming people don't know what games they have made or a hint of what kind of art will you be making and what kind of game.
I'll let you connect the dots.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot that, they merged the two PC developer teams. I have a stupid head.
But anyhow, Blizz still has the second PC team, not all of them are working on WoW.
Quote from Pericolos0i have pictures from that somewhere, they have dinosaurs with saddles and stuff like that
No, that is Yoshi the green fucker from Super Mario World.
